DIY Cleaning Products

Updated on May 22, 2013

When it comes to cleaning products I am especially sensitive to the chemicals that are in them. They never fail to irritate my sinuses or my skin when I accidentally come into contact with the chemicals. One day as I was wandering through Pinterest I noticed a lot of people suggesting various kinds of homemade products. I decided I would take a stab at it and it worked wonders! I am going to share with you two of my favorites.

DIY Bathroom/Kitchen Cleaner

Use this cleaner to clean your sink, shower, or any other surface that have those tough to beat stains. You will need:

  • 1 ½ Cups of White Vinegar
  • 1 ½ Cups of Dawn Dish Soap
  • 1 Tablespoon of Laundry Detergent (I like Gain since it has a light and fresh scent this will cover the scent of the vinegar.)
  • 24-28 Oz Spray Bottle

Directions: Simply mix the ingredients in the bottle and mix/shake slightly. Then just go ahead and clean away! So easy, cheap, and not hazardous to your health!

DIY Window Cleaner

  • 1/8 Cup of White Amonia
  • ½ Cup of Rubbing Alcohol
  • 1 Drop of Laundry Detergent
  • 24-28 Oz Bottle

Add all of the ingredients into the bottle and mix them. Then fill up the remaining space in the bottle with water. Clean away! The formula should be streak free!

These two products are wonderful and in my opinion they work far better than most of the store bought products do. It is great for you and your body because you know and understand exactly what is in the products. There are no mystery chemicals or harsh fragrances because it is entirely up to you. I hope this helps you in your cleaning endeavors.
