    I would like to start doing this on my own I do work for a company right now that is working through a property reservation company. But, I also have to work around my kids school schedule and I would like to be able to get my own money and not have to wait for them to get their check and then they give me a check and I have to wait to put mine in. I want to be able to set my own hours and also to be able to have that extra cash. I am looking into more of the photo jobs. Can anyone help me with getting this started?

    I've worked for Tech Buff for over a year now and while $2.75 isn't much (I just turned down $2.25 from another inspection firm), they DO pay me. If you're careful and shoot the way they want you to, you'll get paid. Its simple work really. As far as 2hr drives for emergencies, I've only been sent AT MOST 10 miles for an emergency and I get paid $20 to do it...

    I worked for Tech Buff for about 8 months and had the exact same experience. In addition they call you up and demand that you drive two hours to do a $3 inspection or threaten not to send you more properties or work for the next 2 weeks. Funny when there are other inspectors closer that wouldn't have to waste that amount of gas and time for their "emergency" inspection. Definitely a mickey mouse company.

    I had the same issue with them. They are the absoulute worst Mickey mouse company I have ever worked with. 1st They want you to knock on the door to the already angry foreclosed home owner, leave a letter, Take photos of all sides of the home and usually more, fill out a report, go online and download each photo, wait im not done yet! Then put all picture numbers into another program. All this work is for a WHOPPING $3 per inspection. I know it's funny but Im not kidding. Then the next day you get emails saying why you need to go back out and take another pic or you wont get paid. Just think, if you do maybe 200 a day, then they dont pay you for 150 of them plus your gas. Holy crap, I guess you have to pay them to work. Sounds like a good deal to me.

    DO NOT WORK FOR TECH BUFF INSPECTION. You make only $3 per inspection, that is if they decide to pay you. If you go out and do 40 inspections a day. They have every reason in the book to not pay you. Trust me DONT DO IT.

    This is huge right now, and for anyone that interested in this niched they should contract their local REO real estate agent and build a rapport. It might take a few attempts as these agent are very busy, but it worth it because they can get you in the door with the banks that have forclosed homes.
