Fixing a Paper Shredder which did not Turn
I inspected the shredder. The plastic handle between the shredder teeth was missing. When paper was inserted, there was nothing to switch on the power.
I disassembled the paper shredder and found the plastic handle was broken. I toke the plastic handle out and used super glue to put the pieces back. I also added a plastic sheet cut from the super glue packaging and glued it on the plastic handle to reinforce it.
I tried to put the plastic handle back into the slot but failed due to insufficient space to accommodate the whole plastic handle. I needed to disassemble further until I had enough space to put the plastic handle back. I also took the switch out first so that the plastic handle were on top of the metal of the switch.
Another challenge was to put the teeth in right order so that they could cut the paper. If not in right place, the teeth would have gaps and could not cut paper. With some patience, I assembled the shredder back.
I inserted a paper to the shredder. The paper pressed the plastic handle which switched on the shredder. Paper was cut. The shredder was good again.
