Free Educational Gardening Apps
Although its name is odd, "Garden Snob" is a handy app that provides not only gardening tips, but also information about a wide variety of topics gardeners will find interesting. How to can tomato juice as well as other ways to make good use of vegetable crops are just a few topics "Garden Snob" covers.
Unsure about when to plant? “Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables” provides a quick overview of the best fruits and vegetables for any given time of year. “Botanica,” a more comprehensive free gardening app, links plants to their respective hardiness zones. It also allows you to add journal entries and photos. It even alerts you when plants need watering.
“Gardener” can also help you plan your garden. This free android app provides detailed plant descriptions and design tools. Like "Botanica," it can be used as a garden journal.
If you have children, add “Flower Kidz” to your droid. At the doctor’s office, during road trips, or on a rainy day, this free app will keep your young ones occupied as it teaches them about flowers.

Some of the free gardening apps available for your android are just for fun.
“Garden,” for instance, is a three-match game. Using a virtual spade, players plant and move flowers. The goal? To harvest three flowers in a row that are the same color. It sounds easy, but it’s not. Honeybees can change a flower’s color, and stones can steal your planting spot. But, with luck, you could plant a magic flower that matches any color. Flowers come in seven colors.
Using the game app “Green Tree,” you can plant a virtual tree as live wallpaper on your droid screen. Care for it well, and watch it grow! When you’re too busy to monitor your tree, simply set the game on pause.

“Daisy Live Wallpaper Lite” features cascading wildflowers for each page of your droid screen. Tap the flowers, and their petals pop. The “non-lite” version, “Daisy Live Wallpaper,” offers additional flower options.
With the “Daisy Garden Lite” app, you can “grow” virtual flowers to display on your phone's screen. You can also share flowers with other “Daisy Garden Lite” gardeners for their virtual gardens. The “full” version of this app, "Daisy Garden,” costs a little over $1.
