Growing Rhubarb from Seeds
I have a mother plant. It produces seeds a few months after it starts growing. These seeds are meant to continue the plant and fall on the soil below.
So, what happens when I interrupt the process and take some of those seeds and put them in cups filled with potting soil? Seems rather simple. I had some styrofoam coffee cups, and I filled them each with Miracle Grow potting soil. I put a handful of seeds in each cup, and sprinkled a little more potting soil on to cover.
I put some water in each cup. Enough to saturate the dirt. I have all the cups in a bo to confine them. They are outside. If it rains, they get watered. If the sun shines, they get sun. With the box, they are protected against the wind.
However, with a box, they are not protected against curious kittens, just so you know. They seem to survive the explorations however. Smile.
