Bellawood Maple Flooring - From Lumber Liquidators

1/2" x 5" Maple Engineered Clear Finish Natural $5.39/sq. ft.

33.75 sq. ft. per box

Multi-ply cross-layered wood core with a think, solid top layer. This construction offers more dimensional stability for wide planks, making them less susceptible to climatic effects.

This flooring was used in just about every room of the house. As far as I can tell the only spaces without it are the Mudroom & Ski Dorm Bathroom.

Congratulations to the winner! Can't imagine how excited and happy they must be. That is one of the most beautiful dream homes to date. You know in a way I'm glad I didn't win, because if that lady came to my house with that handful of balloons and told me I had just won the HGTV Dream Home I think would have wet my pants. Just think how embarrassing that would be on nationwide TV! Oh well, I guess I would get over the embarrassment in time. :)

I was hoping that I would be the winner - but I'll have to try again next time ( I enter all their contests and really had hoped that I would have won the Woodstock home that they had a few months back - but again no luck).

I really hope the winner appreciates, needs, and deserves this home and added prizes. It really would be nice if a common deserving person won!

I'm NOT excited about the location, actually. But I'm still entering the contest because they have an alternative cash prize the winner can take if they don't want the home, which I wouldn't if I won. I'd take the cash, pay off some bills, move to Florida & check other things off of my bucket list!P.S. You might want to leave a note in your guestbook description saying that HGTV doesn't run this webpage... at least "Edith" seems to think otherwise!

There would be nothing better that could happen to me in my life than winning this house. I'm so excited, I must have looked at the tours100 times. Especially with the economic downturn, things haven't been all that great for me. Winning this would lessen all of my burdens. I'm crossing my fingers!

OK Guys, yes we all want to win!!! I have been vacationing in Vermont several times a year for a long time, and have fallen in love with the lifestyle, scenery, small town and people. I have become a Vermonter but need toactually make this permanent ya know -I live in a small towm (No mountains and snow, but water -Ya know "Key Largo") But I feel totally like Stowe is my home. I can close my eyes and get around there. I ove good small town people - just like I'm used to. I have dreamed like no body's business of living in Stowe. nyway, I feel it's my destiny to move to Vermont one wayor another. I would hate to go to my grave and never have lived my dreams. And this is my dream, more than anyone's/

@anonymous: still, how could you swing it - I'm guessing you could rent it and gross 200,000 a year to rent it, 5- 10,000 a week minus mud season or april may and most of june, so 40 good weeks or so, so by time taxes are due you'd have income of 200, 1.5 mil and the 5oo cash, say 35%, like 850 minus your400 in cash, so you'd have to come up with 450, minus fees and maint, so maybe 525, but then it would pay for itself and you might clear 200 minus mortgage, taxes fees maaint - @40, 000 the following year, no?

    • profile image

      anonymous 6 years ago

@anonymous: The hit by the IRS will NOT be 1.2 mill. It would be about $670,000. If someone had 1.5 mill in w2 income AND won this prize the taxes to IRS would then be 1.2 mill. There is/may be other taxes and fees - HOA, loca, state taxes, property taxes, etc. All of that combined still would not cost 1.2 mill, at least for first year. Wish people would stop spreading that half tax myth. I am a cpa, in the field 30 plus years. Never had a client yet who paid 50% on any type of income.

Yes, It is beautiful - this area really "defines" the different seasons - in the best way! We are originally from Ga. and have experienced "some"seasonal changes and enjoyed the changing of the leafs, the mountains, etc., We have been in Texas now for 17 years and did not know what we were missing until we we left! We have enjoyed Ga. and the east coast for its beauty, history and recreation.

How about doing more homes on the west!!! There is so many beautiful places on the west!!

    • profile image

      anonymous 6 years ago

It would be great to live in such a wonderful place! But cold! It could really use more closets and storage from what we can see. I have always wondered about all the taxes and fees myself. It seems the ones who could really use the home, can't afford to win it. That is of course, just my opinion. How about a warmer climate for next years?

    • profile image

      anonymous 6 years ago

Let me get this straight; The ski dorm will sleep 4 people, but there is very little closet according to the blue print, so where are all there cloths suppose to go because there is no furniture for clothes either.

I want to know what the HOA fees are, IRS tax margin for winnings is 51% so who ever wins the 2,000,000.00 prize already owes 1.2 mil depending. Property tax is 28,000+ for that address your looking at owing 728,000 (or more) even if you applied your 500,000$ cash winnings toward the taxes. You get a mortgage on it to pay the taxes, your monthly payment would be $3,500+ @ 4.25% a month along with HOA and utilities your looking at 4,500$ a month at least. So what ever family wins, I hope they make more then 6,000 a month with no additional debt just to make enough for the monthly payments, food phone, internet, cable, car insurance, home insurance and the 400$ a month in gas to fuel that car- just to go to work.... what a blessing. Id opt out for the cash 1.2 mil in cash and walk away with 492,000$ after taxes.
