The hours of the day go by quite easily when I am writing and reading, and that is how I would like the rest of my life to be.

A landscape can be beautiful as long as you follow practices that have been tested over the years and have been used by most enthusiastic gardeners. It need not cost you a lot of money, and if you have the right plants and the proper hardscape, your garden will be one that your neighbors envy and can be your pride.

Conserve Water

Any landscape design that you follow must not harm the environment in any way, and one of the first things here is to ensure that you have a plan that retains water from your sprinklers and even charges the groundwater table from a storm and rainwater runoff. This practice not only keeps the soil reasonably moist and reduces your need for water for the plants, but can be of help to your community. In fact, there are cities in Australia, which make it mandatory to harvest rainwater and use only that water for gardening.

Trees In A Garden

Landscapes must be those that have shapes, sizes, colors and appearances that always have the ease of maintenance in mind. This can make it easy for the gardener and reduce the amount of effort that is required to be put in. A landscape will always benefit from the presence of trees, and a tree can add to the shade in your garden and your home, thus reducing air conditioning loads. Plant your trees in A location that allows your home and your garden to get the advantages of it. Children love playing around trees and this can be an added bonus. You can also create flowers and shrubs around a tree to give your landscape additional character. But you need to be careful to see that you stay clear of the tree’s root zone, so that your plants do not interfere with its growth.

Landscaping In Backyards

Backyards are popular with children and are also often used by adults to relax and entertain. It is always a good idea to fill your backyard with evergreens, as this will give the year a greenery all the year round, and the required structure and stability. Your backyard will then look good throughout the year, be it summer or winter. Backyards can also benefit from hardscapes and here you can have your choice from fences, walls, rocks, paths, and even a water body. Put in a few climbing vines and you will create an ambiance that can never fail to captivate any visitor.

Think of your landscape as you would think of a picture. It must be beautiful, interesting and always capture your imagination. Lawns can be restful and green. A tree is a must. Do not use too many plants and shrubs and leave your landscape with a feeling of openness. It should be one that pleases your senses and gives you a feeling of relaxation.
