How to Make a Water Garden

Updated on July 6, 2015

Make a Water Garden Out of a Pot

If you enjoy gardening in all varieties and styles, than you may enjoy this water garden. It is so easy to make and maintain. What's great about a water garden is you do not need a "green thumb" to be able to take care of it. Water plants love water so you can't go wrong !

All you do is get a pot the size of the water garden you are desiring. Fill it with dirt up to about 6 inches from the top, (not potting soil) the kind you get from your yard. Now get some edging and place it inside your pot (look at pictures below.) Once it is secure, fill the small area with dirt. Now just fill the pot with water, on the other side of the edging. And just add your water plants.

Quick, Easy Water Gardening

A good place to find water plants is at a fish supply store. They will usually have a vast majority of plants and flowers that would be perfect for a water garden.

If you happen to have a creek or lake nearby, you can stop and get a few things to put in your water garden.
