New Decor

These sites offer new, designer home furnishings at clearance prices. The selection is always changing, but there are always great deals to be found.

  • nobetterdeal.com - This site is a liquidator of retail returns and closeouts. Items range from "Brand New", "Like New", "Open box", "As Is", or "Repackaged" condition. Since this site is used for liquidation from other retailers, their merchandise is constantly changing. When you find an item you like, though, it is well worth it since they have awesome discounts.
  • Overstock.com - Overstock is a great option for buying furniture and home goods. They often offer discounts and free shipping for first time buyers and their normal shipping rate is only $2.95. Also, they tend to offer additional sales of 10%-15% off home décor, although check often because the sales change weekly. Overstock also has a "Club O" program which offers additional coupons, free shipping, and reward credits on purchases. There is a yearly membership of around $20, but if you are buying a piece of furniture, it would pay for itself in rewards. Also, if you are in the military, your membership is FREE!
  • MyHabit.com - This is a partner site with Amazon and my favorite discount designer site. Discounts range from around 30% - 80% off. Sales start daily at 12pm EST / 9am PT , but be quick because the deals sell out fast. Free shipping and returns. This site also occasionally will offer coupons on top of the normal discounts. Check out their daily clearance home goods under the "Home" section.
  • One Kings Lane- This is a free membership site that offers daily sales starting at 8am PT / 11am ET. The site offers 75% off or more on designer home décor. Plus, they will give you a $15 credit just for signing up and an additional $15 credit for each friend that you refer that makes a purchase. Some of the items can be fairly expensive because they are designer, but there are also some great deals to be found. Towards the bottom of their site, you can find the "Downstairs at One Kings Lane" clearance section which offers the best prices.
  • Hautelook.com - This site offers new designer sales daily on goods ranging from clothes, accessories, makeup, vacations, and home furnishings. Sales start at 11pm EST / 8am PT. This site also offers a $10 credit for each friend you refer that makes a purchase on their site. Check out the home décor deals under their "Home" section.
  • RueLaLa.com - This site offers deals very similar to Hautelook.com. This site also offers a pretty cool daily deal called "Today's Fix". Sales start at 3pm EST. The site also offers a $10 referral credit for friends that join and make a purchase. This site also offers an interesting feature where you pay $9.95 shipping once and get free shipping for the next 30 days. Check out the home goods under the section called "Living".
  • Events.Shoebuy.com - This site offers private events with goods up to 90% off. The sales are mostly for shoe brands, but also offer other accessories like watches, purses, and home décor.
  • BeyondTheRack.com - This site offers sales for designer deals that start daily at 11am EST. Discounts can be up to 80% off. The site also offers a daily deal called "Happy Hour Twist" for a deeper deal on a product which starts at 4pm EST. The site also offers a $10 referral credit for friends that join and make a purchase. The site is mostly for clothing, however, they have a home section. I was able to snag a Tommy Hilfiger Queen Duvet set for only $9.99 + shipping!
  • Opensky.com - This site has a collection of celebrity curators such as Alicia Silverstone, Stacy Keibler, and Molly Sims that select merchandise to offer at discount prices. In addition to home décor, the site also has deals on food, clothing, fitness accessories, gifts and more. Invite friends and receive a $25 credit for the first friend that joins and makes a purchase.
  • Ideeli.com - This site offers great sales on designer clothes, home accessories, and vacations. This site also offers "Shop til you Pop" sales with discounts getting as high as 75% off. Invite friends and receive a $25 credit when they join and make a purchase.
  • lastcall.com (Neiman Marcus) - This site offers Neiman Marcus brands at clearance prices. The site is mostly for clothing, but there is a small section for home goods in their "Gifts" section. Plus, there are generally additional discounts offered that change weekly.
  • Sierra Trading Post- This site offers new home décor. Their selection is a little sparse, but if you can find what you're looking for, they offer bargains of up to 70% off. This site also usually offers additional coupon savings.
  • Rugs USA- This is the best place I've found for great deals on new rugs. They offer clearance rugs at up to 75% off plus offer an additional 20% off if you sign up for email and usually offer free shipping on top of that. This site has the best deals on rugs.

Consigned or Used Items

Here is a list of sites to get great deals on gently used or consigned home décor and furniture. These sites are great for decorating on a budget.

  • Craigslist.org- Craigslist is a free classified ad site for your area. Their home page allows you to pick the city that is closest to you and then view all of their listings. They typically have sections for furniture and home goods. This is a great way to find great used home décor in your area. There is also usually a garage sale section to view upcoming yard and garage sales.
  • Estatesales.net- This site helps you locate estate sales in your area. They also often have online sales to find great deals on previously used furniture and home décor.
  • ShopGoodwill.com- This site allows you to shop for home goods that are at Goodwill stores throughout the country. The items are auctioned which means that you can usually snag an even better deal than if you were in the store. Check to make sure that you are within driving distance or that they offer shipping before bidding.
  • ebay.com- ebay has always been a great place to find awesome deals on everything under the sun. Some items have a "Buy it Now" option which will allow you to purchase the item immediately (usually at a higher price) while other items are auctioned. Make sure that the price + shipping is still within the range that you're willing to spend and be careful to avoid getting caught up in a bidding war!

Free Items

It's hard to beat free! These sites offer used décor items completely free.

  • Freecycle.org- This site is similar to Craigslist, but it is a community that is giving their goods away for free. This keeps items out of landfills and helps our your fellow community. Members that sign up are encouraged to offer up some items for free in addition to searching for free items.
