Update

So I'm officially out of the house, (sob, just kidding). I'm still hanging around town, waiting for all lose ends to be tied up. Even though I've been out for almost two months, I'm still getting use to a forty year change in life's everyday occurrences. I still find myself falling into the old habits, like turning down the same old streets, trying to live in my temporary abode the same as I did in my past home. This is really strange, but I'm getting use to it.

Now, I'm not going to sit here and pretend this is easy. You don't let go of something you've done for over 40 years, and not feel some emotion, so I'm enormously emotional at times, but excited, nevertheless, about the new phase of my life. I get through this with the thought that if I wasn't able to handle it, I wouldn't have been given it. This is humbling to say the least, although I didn't think I needed to be humbled, just goes to show you don't know yourself as well as you think you do.

I started this article so long ago I don't know where I was going with it. Anyway I'm going to attempt to finish it today. It will be short and sweet, in an effort to release it before I leave my present location. Speaking of leaving, I will be leaving Friday, July 29.

My Temporary Itinerary

I hope to be in Phoenix on Saturday for a few days, hopefully seeing and doing some interesting things. I will be visiting my son and a few friends. While there I'll take pictures and share them in my next hub. After leaving Phoenix I'll give an update. Just a hint, I'll be in and around Dallas/Fort Worth area, I'll also be passing through Chicago, D.C, ending in Atlanta for my first leg, but more about that later.

I feel so rusty, as I've not written anything since my last hub, (I Lost My Home To Foreclosure). So please forgive me if I ramble a bit, I'll have to get back in the swing of things. I plan to detail my last few months in a future hub, so stay tuned. This article is just to let all who cares know that I'm still among the living, (smile).

I'll Be Back Soon

So I'll be closing this hub for now, please check back soon for future updates.

      Hi, Freta

I am sorry to hear about your house but I am excited and glad for your adventure. We took a cross country Amtrak rail back in 1994 and it was awesome. And I took Amtrak to Chicago 2 years ago. Please keep posted your itinerary for the next few months ago and maybe I can come and meet you wherever you happen to be. I have travel plans in the year ahead and I am sure whereever you may be won't be far from where I may be. Take Care Edmund

Oh Storytellerus, I understood what you meant, and I didn't take offense. Perhaps my response sounded that way, so sorry. You're too kind, thank you.

I'm sorry to hear you lost your house but it sounds like you have made plans and moving forward. I lost my house also about 25 years ago. It was hard but I survived as we all do. Best of luck in the future.

You all are so encouraging to me.

Thanks Storytellersrus, you're so right, it's not just me, so many others are going through this, so I don't feel alone, but it is not pleasant. Thank you for your encouraging comments.

Dahoglund, all I can say is WOW, the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree in your case. I'm so sorry to hear about your situation, (albeit a long time ago), and your daughters too. At this point renting doesn't sound too bad to me, so I'm kind of looking forward to it.

Mamelody, I'm sorry to hear about your situation, so thanks very much for your encouraging comments.

Thank you dashingclaire for your heartfelt comments.

Thanks Chris, stay tuned, I guess I'll be "blogging" here for a while during my adventure.

Again thank you all so much for stopping by and encouraging me. Stay tuned.

Great to hear from you again Freta. We've all gone through stuff but change is good. You'll, if you don't already, feel the freedom! Looking forward to your travel hubs, I'm glad you're well! Peace!! Tom ***I'm only 9 hours up I-75 from Atlanta :-)

Hey fleta, I will be thinking about you Friday. I entered this series late and I guess I have not had the opportunity to say how sorry I am that you and a host of other folk are going through this (stuff). We are up to our ears in debt, but the house is solid for now. Unemployment will do that to your bottom line. I awoke determined to find a get rich scheme, but it is too late to run for Congress, lol! Hugs dear hubber. Keep the faith- this is what I always remember when I think of you, dear. You are a woman of faith.

I lost my first house back in the 1970's because I was out of work. Now my daughter has had to give up hers and is renting. My son had to relocate for work and has his house up for sale. Bob Dylan was wrong-times don't change that much.

You're all so wonderful, ah, I feel at home again, (hubpages). Thanks BJC, I will certainly let you know if I'm in or around that part of Florida.

Hello there 2uesday, thank you, I'm trying to really make the best of a difficult situation, so far so good.

      Thanks CASE1WORKER, stay tuned.

      Thank you truthfornow!

You know Deborah-Diane, I'm sure I'll be renting henceforth, which is a somewhat new experience, after 40 years of owning, I'm actually looking forward to it.

You know who I really feel sorry for SweetiePie, the mothers with children in this situation, so sad. But as I stated to Deborah-Diane, I will be a renter henceforth.

I'm glad you stopped by Dexter, because when I saw that my travels will take me thru Chicago, I was trying to remember who said contact them, and it's you. So I'll contact you before I arrive. Actually it's only a layover for a few hours. Anyway we'll talk.

Thank you all so much for stopping, and I'm trying to get back in the swing of things, so I can begin to participate in the community again.

What happened to you happened to so many in SoCal, and it never should have happened. Gee banks, work with people and help them stay in their homes. However, I am a left leaning Southern California girl, so there you go. I rent in a very nice complex, and there are some good deals here for those who want to rent.
