Nature At Home

When the whole world is spooked by one tiny virus and all of us locked inside our houses, one thing I was missing the most was the nature therapy. I love green all around. So I thought if I could not reach to nature, let's bring nature to our home. So I bought a few ornamental indoor plants that are not only gorgeous but also help in cleaning our room from toxicity. And I found out some of them have funny names too like the mother-in-law's tongue plant, I mean why someone will keep a name like this. Well, until you think about it, let me pen down a few more indoor plants, which are easy to maintain and grow at your convenience.

Easy Maintenance Indoor Plants

Money plant:

As per the name, many believe that these plants bring luck and prosperity to the house in the form of money, it sounds interesting, right?

Well, I don’t think in that way as there are no proven facts, I have chosen this plant because of its climbing nature and high survival rate. They grow in direct & indirect sunlight & easy to maintain. Even you can grow them in water without any soil. These plants never give up even if you chop their roots or cut their neck and place them in a jar of water, they will develop their roots in a few days and show you that when there is a will there is a way. Another good thing about this plant is, it cleanses the home environment by removing toxins from the house.

Money plants are one of the most popular plants that you can spot in homes. They can be used as decorative plants. You can plant them in soil or water they can sustain in both. You can use them in hanging pots or simply curl them in your balcony rods. They look amazing either way.

Spider Plant

Spider Plant:

As per the name, these plants look like a spider's legs by appearance, but they are not scary like a spider, not dangerous too rather they are beautiful. You can find it in different shades like in a yellow-green combination or a white-green combination. These plants also need low maintenance and can be used as a beautiful decor plant. These tough plants can sustain lots of abuse and are super easy to grow. They look amazing on hanging baskets. They multiply frequently so you can plant them in different containers. They can survive in low lights and help in cleaning the air too. I used them in my terrarium and they look amazing in that.

Peace lily

Peace Lily:

Peace lily appears to be really peaceful and Peace lilies prefer light partial shade. In fact, some have been known to thrive in rooms with no windows at all. They make excellent houseplants, it brightens your drawing-room. The white flowers look like a white leaf hooded over a beaded stem-like structure giving the flower a unique shape.
They serve as an air purifier too. Although they are low maintenance plants they require little attention and care in comparison to others mentioned in the article. You have to grow them in a bigger pot. They cannot tolerate overwatering, so you have to be extra cautious regarding this.

They work as a room purifier, It helps to reduce the levels of mold spores that grow in the home by absorbing those spores through its leaves and circulating them to the plant's roots where they are used as food.

Snake plant

Mother-in-Law’s Tongue:

This plant is also known as the snake plant, well I don’t understand how these two names are correlated to each other but anyway it’s not at all a dangerous plant however dangerous the name looks like.

This spiky plant’s biological name is Sansevieria trifasciata Laurentii, which is what I would also call it if I was either a scientist or a botanist I really don’t want to stress my memory to remember such a long name.So I am ok with these funny names. This plant actually thrives on neglect can you believe it? Yes, this is a perfect plant for all those lazy humans who don’t want to feed it regularly.

It can actually go for a whole month without being watered.

By appearance, it has stiff, upright leaves, and you’ll find it in many different colors and varieties. Jus t opposite to their name, these plants are extremely helpful in cleaning toxic air and they can survive on low light too.So put it in any corner,it will beautify your room without troubling you much about its care.

Don’t water it until the soil is dry, and water around the edges of the plant rather than right in the middle and add some pebbles around the soil for decoration.

Aloe Vera Plant

Aloe Vera:

This is my favorite indoor plant. This cute fluffy plant helps us in many ways.

They don't require much of your love in fact, if you give it a good soak once every couple of weeks, This green succulent not only helps in purifying the air it also helps in various other things. You can hurt it by breaking its leaves it won’t mind. You can apply it to your skin. It has a smooth and calming effect on the skin. You can drink it as a juice. It has many health benefits. You can apply it on your hair to get rid of dandruff. So all in all it’s a good companion. You can keep it anywhere in the room. It just requires a little light and water to survive. Aloe vera is a perfect example of selfless love. You can use it in any possible way without caring much about it.
