Manly Scented Candles

When you picture candles, what type of person pops up in your head? Do you think of Grandma and her apple pie scented candle? What about your mother and her lemon lavender scented kitchen candle? Maybe you even think about a teenage girl and her cupcake scented candle. You know who candle companies have long been neglecting? Dudes! You may not realize this, but dudes like candles, too. Thank goodness Yankee Candle has decided to jump on board and help men out by creating man candles.

Oh yes, the time has come! Men who love candles need to unite and head to Yankee Candle to behold the manificent display of manliness that is appearing in the store right now. Yankee Candle has 4 new scented candles that are created specifically for men: Man Town, 2 X 4, Riding Mower, and First Down. What Dad or Grandpa isn't ready to explore their masculine side with these awesome scented candles?

Men sometimes won't admit it, but most of them like candles. It is nice if they've burnt something on the stove and need to cover the odor. Single guys love candles because they can set the mood for a nice date or help cover up that sweaty sock odor going on in the bathroom. Dudes love candles. Up until now, they had to go with some of the more girlish candles. In fact, just about any guy I've dated recently secretly loves Yankee Candle's Pineapple Cilantro. If you go to a man's home, just look around. I'll bet Pineapple Cilantro is hiding out somewhere in that place.

Now, men no longer have to conceal their feminine candles in shame. A man can proudly display some very masculine dude candles anywhere in his home. The man candles have arrived! Dudes can even buy awesome accessories like tiny little beers to hang on the side of the jar or football jar toppers. Yankee Candle is treating the men of the world right! Check out some of the manly scents available just in time for Father's Day!

Man Town

I knew there was Funky Town, but who knew a place called Man Town existed? In Yankee Candle, this place exists in the form of a scented candle. Man Town is a purplish gray color. The label on the front of the jar features a man with a remote control watching a football game. It can't get much manlier than that.

If you are wondering how the candle smells, it is actually pretty nice. It smells like men's cologne. If you like the smell of a man's cologne or you are looking for a pleasant scent to buy the man in your life, this is probably your best bet.

First Down

First Down is Yankee Candle's football scented candle. It has a football on the label and it is a brown candle. To be honest, it doesn't make me think of a football when I smell it. The fragrance is more like a new car smell. If you are looking for a candle that has that new car / leather odor, look no further. First Down is definitely the candle for you!

2 X 4

Oh yeah, nothing says manly like a candle called "2 X 4." Obviously, the label on this candle jar is going to feature some boards, measuring tape, and some tools. This is a total dude candle. 2 X 4 is the perfect candle for guys that are carpenters or enjoy working on construction projects for fun.

The candle actually smells like wood chips. When you sniff it, you will think about pencils being sharpened while in grade school and the wood shavings from those pencils. If you'd like a candle that will take you back to childhood, you should go to Yankee Candle and buy 2 X 4 right now.

Riding Mower

If you know a man that likes to mow the lawn every weekend, you should get the Riding Mower scented candle for that guy. Yankee Candle's Riding Mower smells just like freshly cut grass. Of course, the photo on the front shows a riding lawn mower.

This is actually a perfect candle for someone that enjoys being outdoors, yet that person can't handle too much sun or struggles with allergies when outside for too long. Riding Mower is naturally a green candle and probably the more generic of the man candles. I am pretty sure a woman would appreciate this candle just as much as a man.

Candles For Dudes!

I hope if you are a guy, you are now inspired to admit you like scented candles from Yankee Candle just as much as the next person. If you are a woman, perhaps you will buy some guys man candles as gifts. They are great for boyfriends, husbands, brothers, fathers, and grandfathers. Don't forget, Father's Day is just around the corner! Show that man in your life that you care.

I sure hope they do that! I would love to have a candle named Manilla with a guy baking sugar cookies on the front of it. Thanks for the comment! :-)

Man candles, who knew? I'm actually partial to vanilla myself. :D

Maybe they'll come out with a vanilla man candle - wonder what the name of that would be? "Manilla" picturing a guy baking sugar cookies? :D

    Interesting hub!

Don't worry... your secret is safe with me and anyone else that might read your comment. All of those scents sound really nice! Thanks for the comment.

I saw the Man Candle on ABC's Shark Tank. They're doing great. What a refreshing change from the "estrogen" scented candles.

Don't tell anyone but I have incense. I like the rose, violet, jasmine, rainforest, and ocean mist.

RealHousewife - This is so true! I have one of the candles that smells like a man's cologne. Perfect! I can have that clean, fresh, manly scent without a real dude! Hehe. Thanks for the comment!

TToombs08 - It sounds like you put a lot of work into the housebroken guy. I think I will pass on the untrainable one, but thank you for your kind offer. :-)

My pleasure, Jeannie. I'd send you my cowboy but I finally almost have him housebroken (after 6 years). :) I have a slightly used one I could send you - I had to give up on him because he was untrainable. :)

Well there ya go then Jeannie - ya just don't need a real man around anymore. You can have the very best of both worlds - light a candle close your eyes and he is right out there chipping wood or mowing the lawn. Just before he comes in the door to start complaining open your eyes and poof he's gone! lol

I agree with you! I want a cowboy scented candle, too. Honestly, I just really want a cowboy. ;-) Thanks for checking out my hub!

Now if they had one for the cowboy (leather, sagebrush and horses), hubby would be ALL over that one. Heck, I would be too. I love the smell of saddle leather and horses...and cowboys. *yum* LOL Voted UP!

Dolores Monet - Yes, the riding lawnmower seemed a bit much. I do know they have other grass scented candles that are not as "manly" with the lawnmower. Thanks for dropping by!

sholland10 - You are so right! I would have never thought of that, but that is a really nice gift for anyone stationed in Iraq. Pineapple Cilantro is really nice. At Christmas, they have one called Christmas on the Beach - it is the exact same scent! Thanks for the votes and the comment!

lovedoctor926 - Thank you for the vote up and the comment! I think Pineapple Cilantro is one of those universal scents everyone enjoys. My boss loves it too, and she is not a dude either. Hehe. I love pumpkin scented and lavender scented candles, too! I am burning my lemon lavender candle right now. :-)

vote up great hub and interesting!

I love pineapple cilantro. I have that candle burning in my bathroom now as a matter of fact, but I'm not a dude. lol. There's nothing wrong with men liking candles, it's just the way society is I guess that makes men not want to admit to certain things. There's another awesome candle from that store in blue that smells delicious! Red candles are good to set the mood. Pumpkin scented and lavender are pretty awesome too. thanks for sharing

You are so right about men liking candles! When my husband was in Iraq, I sent a case of "Fresh Cut Grass" scented candles for him to pass out. Of course, it had been nearly a year since any of them had seen or smelled grass. They loved it! "Riding Mower" would go over very well at my house. He even likes the Mulberry, but you didn't hear that from me. I will have to try the Pineapple Cilantro to set "the mood." LOL

Great hub! Votes across and shared! :-)

I love the idea of the scent of fresh cut grass but the picture and title riding mower just seems silly. Also love the smell of fresh lumber. All the new scents beat the heck out of sweaty socks, haha.

spartucusjones - Mandles... that is a good term for them. :-) Draft beer or BBQ doesn't seem nearly as nice as lilacs though. Hehe. Thanks for dropping by!

What Is Q - Hahahaha.... you've got some "refreshing" new ideas on candle scents. Thanks for sharing!

randomcreative - I am glad men will be able to open admit to liking candles. And I am also relieved locker room is not on the list. :-) Thanks for visiting my hub!

I agree that a lot of guys do love candles. My husband definitely does. Like others, I'm glad that these sound like good smells and not of the locker room variety.

The 2x4 one sounds good, since I always loved the smell of sawdust. They should make a Napalm candle, because I also love the smell of napalm in the morning. Wait. BACON. YES.

Great hub on mandles, I found it quite enlightening. Us dudes have been left out way too long. Forget lilacs I want my draft beer mandle or BBQ (except that may make me hungry and thirsty).

Georgie Lowery - The freshly cut grass candle is pretty nice. It is true - the food scented candles can make a person hungry. I like the kind that smell like fruit. :-) Thanks for dropping by!

weestro - Hahaha... yes, I was concerned about the scents, too. Thanks for the votes!

These are much better than what I was expecting,(sweat, locker room, armpit, boot insole and so on) I will be buying some of these for sure. Voted up and awesome!

I would totally dig a candle that smells like freshly cut grass! My problem is that I buy candles that smell like food and I end up hungry! It's great that Yankee Candle is thinking about dudes. They've been left out for too long!

cardelean - The aftershave candle is pretty nice. Yes, I am relieved I did not find a locker room candle, too. Thanks for dropping by!

billybuc - Hooray for being secure enough to admit you like candles. Yes, I was struggling to hold back the humor. After all, Man Candles are serious business! Hehe. Thanks for the comment!

I am secure in my manhood so I can admit in front of God and everyone that I love candles. Great hub as always with your own brand of wit and humor just straining at the leash to be let loose.

I have to say that I haven't been in a Yankee Candle store in a while and boy have they certainly made candle buying accessible to everyone! :) They actually don't sound too bad. I think an aftershave one would smell nice too. Glad they don't have a locker room one!

onthegrind - Yes, why not target the other half of the population. I seriously believe all guys like candles, some are just not that ready to admit it. Maybe the man candles will help. Honestly, the wood shavings are kind of nice. Thanks for checking out my hub!

DeborahNeyens - Hahaha... when I heard about the man candles, I was scared I would see scents like that. I did find beer and pizza scented candles for men on Amazon, so I guess someone out there thinks that is a good idea. Riding Mower is great if you like a freshly cut grass smell. 2 X 4 is much better than I expected. Thanks for dropping by!

Okay, these aren't too bad. I was so afraid you'd be describing scents like "gym socks that have seen a better day" or "bean burritos for lunch again." Riding Mower and 2x4 sound quite nice, actually.

Interesting hub. Kind of surprised to see Yankee Candle make these. Only a matter of time before they specifically targeted men. The Riding Mower one sounds pretty nice actually - not sure about wood chips or wood shavings though!
