The Moodo Smart Aroma Diffuser has found the way to do this in an efficient, effective and, most importantly, pleasant manner.

That’s why the Moodo allows for remote control, but not from an old-style IR remote. A free iOS/Android app syncs with the Moodo and, providing that a fragrance capsule is inside, enables easy access to all controls. Since this control can even be done remotely, it is obvious that wireless syncing over the Internet is how this is being done. So that means there’s a WiFi transmitter/receiving built into the Moodo. Using the app, a person’s WiFi home network is synced with the Moodo, and so allows for controlling it when away from the home. The only caveat is that it must be a 2.4Ghz network (not 5Ghz), and so placement of the Moodo must be dealt with a bit more carefully as 2.4Ghz WiFi has less of a range than 5Ghz. But with this in mind, more direct control can be had and one can avoid having to rely on an arbitrary timer when not at home.

Moodo’s great strength comes from being able to mix a number of scents to create a personalized experience. This is done through the app, which isn’t just a means for turning the Moodo on or off. Pre-set mixing recommendations are offered so as to make fragrance mixing less initimdiating (and have been curated by expert perfumers). Other features include a “Shuffle” or keeping the nose from becoming smell desensitized and Interval mode which releases a scent at a timed interval. There’s also Smart scheduling for setting Moodo to work automatically.

Now it’s time to enjoy the scents that Moodo can provide. The fragrance capsules that are used are proprietary (in that they are made for Moodo’s use and not for other devices) and come grouped into “scent families.” Each scent family comes with 4 capsules and the name evokes the mood that they can create: from Winter to Mediterranean Dreams to Beach Party to Fresh Vibrations — a total of 8 scent families in all, with single scent capsules available as well. It’s also worth noting that the capsules are environmentally friendly and free of wax and oil and so do not leave any aerosol residue in the immediate area where the scents are being dispensed. No one wants to find that some muck has been deposited on their couch or chair or bed or table because a pleasant smell has been desired.

Moodo comes in black or white and can do voice control as it is Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant compatible, as well as working with Siri Shortcuts and HomeBridge (iOS). It is low maintenance, as the fragrance capsules are to be disposed of (recycled) after use and last an average of 60 hours (actual use time can be greater since a capsule isn’t going to be used continuously or could be mixed with other scents). The end result is that the room is now being filled with a pleasant and memory evoking scent that is a pleasure to be surrounded by or to come home to.
