Updated on March 21, 2011

Your Best Friend In The Kitchen

Kitchen aids are aplenty. But choosing the right kind and the right brand with a warranty is necessary for a hassle free cooking experience.Whatever part of the globe you may be from,if cooking is your passion, you will know that investing in a good food processor and a hand blender is a must. Some men,and most women swear by the use of a hand blender.Convenient, time saving and easily washed in the dishwasher. These devices can be used to whip up a variety of culinary delights.

Food Processors

Food processors can be used for a variety of kneading, chopping, grating, puree'ing, grinding, mincing or simply blending.Asian women swear by the ubiquitous use of the mixer-grinder as they call it. Aromatic masalas are prepared from the spices to cook biryani, curries, sambar, rice baths,etc....Coffee powder is also freshly ground sometimes.Coconut can be grated or ground fine to make the curries tastier.cooked vegetables can be puree'd to the desired consistency depending on the recipe.

A wide variety of food processors are available in the market. Some have 2 or 3 jars in addition to a processing unit-dry grinder, wet grinder, blender. Some models provide interchangable blades instead of separate jars for wet grinding and dry grinding. A spatula and a measuring jar is also provided. The choice is wide but you need to know what you are going to use it for-whether a simple blender would suffice or a complete processor.

Hand Held Blenders

Handheld blenders are particularly useful.Soups, dips and sauces apart from shakes and smoothies are made in a jiffy. A baby's first solid food such as a banana can be mashed up,an elderly person's diet or therapeutic diets can easily be puree'd for easy digestion.Cakes or icing can be quickly mixed into the desired consistency for birthday parties.Barbeque sauces and hot soups can be quickly readied hot or cold in the same cooking pot without messing up another jar. A wall bracket is usually provided to conveniently store while not in use. Just plug and whiz when needed.

Every kitchen needs to have these basic aids which leave you with plenty of time to keep hubbing like me.If you wish to create good informative pages like this one, join hubpages by SIGNING UP HERE!
