Roses: Different Colors, Meanings, and Tips To Making Them Last Longer
Roses Are Fragile. Tips To Making Them Last Longer!
I'd have to say that I'm not a big fan of roses. I get them one day and within two or three days, they have already wilted. My most favorite flower is the Gerbera Daisy. Those things last forever!
However, there have been times when the fella has given me roses. After the initial confrontation: "Why did you get me roses?!? You don't know me at all!", I tell him he shouldn't have and I accept them with a smile. P.S. I don't really do that. He knows he better bring me daisies!
Here are some tips and tricks to making roses last longer than a couple of days!
❁ Trim stems under warm running water. This keeps air out of the stems. Cut about two inches off and cut at a slant.
❁ Remove any leaves that will be under water in the vase to avoid decay and bacteria.
❁ Use preservative packet that came with the roses, or add a plain aspirin to water. Some people add a teaspoon of sugar instead of the aspirin. I've only used aspirin so I can't vouch for the sugar.
❁ Avoid the sun. Display roses in a cool, dry area.
❁ Repeat this process every other day to get the most out of your roses!
