Solar Water Heater Repair

Solar water heater systems are really easy when talking about how they are built. It is not at all difficult to repair them when something goes wrong. Unfortunately many people think that all can be done with ease although it is not always like that. In order for solar water heaters to work well maintenance should be proper. Repair costs must be lower thanks to this. In most cases the heater box has problems. In most cases repairs are over in one hour. Hand tools are utilized and you can usually get the job done alone if you know what you are doing.

If a solar water heater will also use an electrical source then a complication is usually serious. Fortunately most of the heaters are not using energy. Leaks are actually quite common. They will usually appear in storage tanks or heat boxes. Although a tank leak is really easy to notice if you have a leak in the heat box then it can be complicated to notice it. Costly repairs can be avoided if you use a plastic lid so that you can see leaks when they appear in heat boxes. Your water supply has to be closed when you find box problems. Also, allow the entire system to dry completely. You can simply then un-mount your heater and then remove the lid. The leak area is cleaned with the use of sand paper that is wet and dry. You can usually fix a leak by simply adding PVC sealers and covering with sealing tape. If you are faced with a big leak then that affected pipe has to be cut and replaced with a new one.

If the solar water heater system requires a more extensive repair then we recommend that you contact a plumber or an electrician based on problem noticed. While a leak is very easy to fix some problems are not. Never try to make modifications to a pre-built system unless you really know what you are doing.
