Water Heaters

Tank vs Tankless

Most of us wait until our Water Heater fails before we decide to replace it. However just because you are in a rush to replace your water heater does not mean you should just purchase the first one you see. You need to take 5 minutes and read about the different types of water heaters that are available today, and weigh the benefits vs cost of each type and make the best choice for you and your home.

Water Heater Options

Storage Water Heaters Pros: Lots of fuel and size options are the reason that storage style water heaters continue to be the most popular type of water heaters for residential applications in the US.

Storage Water Heaters Cons: The water is stored in a tank that must be heated and reheated, which costs money even though you are not using any hot water. Newer models are becoming more efficient, but still waste energy by constantly heating the water.

Tankless Water Heater Pros: Because the are tankless this style of water heater can fit in tighter spaces and they consume less energy because they only heat water as it is needed.

Tankless Water Heater Cons: Higher cost for the equipment, installation, and maintenance cost more, so depending on the application your savings may not be that great.
