Basic Bathroom Makeover

It's nice to give a room in your home a new look by adding color and changing up the decor; even rearranging furniture. It gives it a fresh look. With small rooms such as a bathroom just by adding your own touches it can look great.

In this lens lets take a look at the bathroom in this photo. This is a simple looking bathroom that needs a little color and love. This is what it looked like before I added my own shower curtain, wall hangings and rugs. This particular bathroom was in our last house we had before the one we live in now. Although moving is never a easy chore the rooms are empty so you can stand there an imagine how you want to decorate it. Even after you've lived there awhile you might want to give it another makeover just to freshened up the style a bit.

You'll find in this lens photo's and how I did up my bathroom with my own color's and style. It's just simple and basic. There just ideas to get you thinking even more outside the box. Blue with a lighthouse touch

My decorating is just simple and not fancy. A basic style to make it look nice with a added touch of what I like or things I collect.

My colors are blue and brown tones for my bathroom. My theme is lighthouses. Actually I'm going to center it around the Michigan lighthouses since I have my own pictures to hang up of them. I framed post cards of the lighthouses and the beach. I hung them by the mirror and sink. I picked out a blue/brown striped shower curtain. In my shower is a stylish white caddy hanging from the shower head filled with our shower accessories. On the sink is a white toothbrush holder and a blue candle in the corner along with other personal accessories on the counter.

Out To Sea Touch

On the wall across from the bathtub and toilet I hung up two special hangings. One of a sail boat that my Mom made when I was younger which is shown here next to this text; the other of a cross stitch I made of a sailor looking out to sea. I laid down blue rugs; one in front of the sink and the other around the toilet. Also near the toilet is a small timeless white garbage can. I've hung blue towels to match the colors of the bathroom.

As you can tell by the photo's it is a small bathroom and space is limited so decorating it simple and with a sheer curtain gives it light and seems bigger as opposed to a dark curtain that would make it feel smaller and confined.

After you've decided that the blue is enough; its time to change up the look of your bathroom as I did. i decided to change it up with purple and flowers. The shower curtain has purple roses on it with a matching garbage can. The rugs are a pretty purple plush. Sitting on the back of the toilet is a cow toilet paper holder. On the wall is a picture of a bathtub that was left in the house when we moved in. I just choose to keep with this purple after look. By the mirror is a ceramic mandolin with purple flowers that a friend made my Mom and was passed on to me.
