The Stainless Steel Kitchen Accessories I Use Daily

Updated on March 21, 2015

My Favorite Stainless Steel Kitchen Accessory

One of my favorite stainless steel kitchen accessories is my Cuisinart coffee maker. It has the perfect combination of brushed stainless with black accents to keep it from being too industrial for me. Of course I also love that it makes a great cup of coffee as well!

This is my second one actually; I bought my first one in 2005, had it for 7 years used it faithfully brewing 1 1/2 pots of coffee daily until it just stopped. But there was no question that it would be replaced with one just like it! HOTTEST cup of coffee I have gotten from a non-commercial coffee maker and it looks great on my counter.

There are plenty of other reasons people choose stainless over other finishes in their kitchens. For example the ease of cleaning, the durability as well as the functionality it offers in a variety of small appliances, cooking utensils or other accessories you use every day. There are multiple ways you can create a sleek look for your contemporary kitchen as well as be chic, minimalist and very practical.

Some of My Favorite Mixing Bowls - You really need one of every size...

I have been through several mixing bowls over the years but these bowls have been part of my kitchen the whole time. Now when my son moved away to college he slipped out with a couple of them so as you can see in the pictures I don't have the whole set. But I suppose I could break down, give him these and order me a new set!

MY OXO Good Grips Bowls - Mixing, Tossing, or Serving...

These bowls have really done a little of it all in my household from mixing cake batter, tossed salad to serving the creamed potatoes at Thanksgiving. They have always been great when showing the kids how to do things in the kitchen because of the their non-skid bottoms so I don't have to worry so much about them flying off the counter!

Mixing Bowls, Measuring Cups, Cookie Cutters

So I think you know my opinion on the mixing bowls, I love my OXO but there are other brands and there are of course ceramic and glass bowls that are really pretty, adding color and texture and I think we can all agree no kitchen can function without a good set regardless of which ones are our favorites!

Having a good set of measuring cups and cookie cutters to go along with your mixing bowls is also a great addition. They are easy to clean and they can go in the dishwasher with no worries of them melting!

Kitchen Accessories, Small Appliances and Gadgets - Color Scheme or Personal Choice

When buying new accessories, gadgets or small appliances for your kitchen, what makes you choose the finish or color you that you do? Sometimes I find myself trying to stay with a color scheme that goes with my kitchen and others, I go with what I like at the time. I do try to stay close to colors that will blend with my kitchen décor but it can be difficult sometimes. Either way I end up with a variety of things I love and some I wonder "What on earth was I thinking?" So I was just wondering how you set up your kitchen.

Do you buy kitchen accessories that match your kitchen or just finishes/colors that you like?

Cuisinart 1200 Brew Central - Looks great and serves up a HOT cup of Coffee!

This is my favorite kitchen appliance and would recommend it to anyone who is an avid coffee drinker. I personally like the brushed metal and black but there are so many options, it can go with any style of kitchen. My sister has Roosters in her kitchen and so she went with the one in red. It's perfect in her kitchen but I still like mine better (don't tell her I said so)!

The style led me to this coffee maker but the quality is what made me buy a second one after having the first for 7 years! I went through so many different coffee makers trying to find one that not only looked good but also made a HOT cup of coffee and this one checked both of those boxes and so much more.

Stainless Utensil Holder - Durable and easy to clean...

Photo © tordon - all rights reserved

I love having utensils close to the stove that I use on a daily basis. I have had other holders in the past but if they aren't weighted right, they end up falling over, or sometimes they can be difficult to keep clean if they have a lot of detail. This sleek design makes it easy to keep clean and it's weighted so no worries about it tipping over when I am reaching for a utensil while cooking.

I have had this one for several years, I think I found it on sale at a Macy's but they have some excellent choices on Amazon. There is one in particular that I have put on my wish list that spins and has compartments. I can always find a use for more than one!

Kitchen Utensils Overflowing - Storage, storage, storage...

I find myself struggling to keep my utensils organized so that they are easy to find when I need them. I use my holder for the ones I use most often, then the rest end up in a drawer. Sometimes though, I find my holder becoming crowded and think maybe I need more than one. Just wondering if anyone else has that same issue.

Some of My Favorite Kitchen Tools - Do you have favorites?

Here are just a few of some specialty tools that I like to use in the kitchen and that I do prefer to have in stainless. I have have most of them for a while as you can tell from the picture. The measuring spoons used to be on a ring but I took them off for some reason and I am pretty sure it's lost in my kitchen drawer.

So I love my baster, for years I had a cheap plastic one but I will never go back. Then I have a lemon zester and my garlic press, which I use all the time! Do you have certain tools or utensils that your prefer to be stainless? Be sure to share them in the comments section, I would love to hear about them!

This was a wonderful birthday gift, an electric wine bottle opener and it is a beautiful sleek stainless steel finish, easy to use and best of all it came with a full bottle of wine! I never have to worry about breaking the cork again! It is easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to store. It takes up very little room and looks stylish enough to leave on my counter.
