What Are Bubble Lights?

Bubble lights are made of an incandescent light bulb and a narrow tube filled with liquid. As the light bulb gets warmer, the liquid heats up and bubbles begin to form and rapidly rise through the liquid. They are a really bold light statement to add to your Christmas tree.

Bubble lights have been a Christmas tradition in my family as long as I can remember. When I put up a Christmas tree in my own home, it didn't feel quite right without a strand of bubble lights at the bottom, so I ran out to buy some of my own.

Traditional bubble lights have a two-toned base (often red and green) and red, orange, or blue liquid, although there are tons of options. Besides these classic bubble lights, you can also find clear ones that have glitter in the liquid or different color combinations.

This classic strand of seven bubble lights is a great decorative touch for a Christmas tree. If you tend to have larger trees, you may want to purchase two strands. However, for a tree that is against the wall or a smaller tree, it is the perfect size to wrap around the bottom of the tree to finish it off.

Classic Bubble Light Night Lights

A classic bubble light night light is simple and just features one of the light bulbs. This night light is a single bubble light bulb that plugs directly into an outlet. It is a great way to add a touch of Christmas cheer to a different part of the house, tie in your decor, or provide a little bit of light to someone who is nervous about the dark.

No matter what time of year it is, this red and green bubble light night light will bring the Christmas spirit to a room. Plus, it will put out just enough light to help any little ones sleep without fear.

This classic bubble light night light is meant for function as well as holiday fun.

Bubble Light Tip: Do you have a bubble light that is warm, but hasn't started bubbling? Give it a quick shake and you can help it get started. For a night light, you will need to unplug it from the wall first.

Santa and His Friends

If the classic bubble lights aren't the right choice for you, there are many other options that use characters or holiday symbols instead of the traditional base. Santa, Rudolph, and the elves are a great choice for bubble light night lights. They range from more elegant to cartoon creations, so you can find the perfect one for any room.

Snowman Bubble Light Night Lights

If you love Frosty the Snowman, these bubble lights are a great choice. They are less traditional because the snowman often replaces the base of the normal light, but they are bright and cheerful and make great night lights. Who could be scared of the dark with a cute snowman there to watch over them?

Cartoon Character Bubble Lights

Invite your favorite cartoon characters to the Christmas party with these fun night lights. Choices include Snoopy, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and Scooby Doo, to name a few!

These bubble light night lights are really cool. I did use bubble lights on my Christmas tree one year, my mother in law let me borrow them. They would really make a fun night light.
