Choosing the Perfect Breadmaker

Updated on September 16, 2014

Choosing a Bread Maker

Bread makers can be a big investment in home and space. Like most consumers in this day and age you probably search the internet for the most recommended products.

A few things to consider when purchasing your bread maker are quality, quantity, and size. There are bread machines that stand out and here’s why. There are some features that you should be aware of so that you get the best bread maker on the market and an over all enjoyable time when baking.

What You Can Make with a Bread Maker

There are plenty of foods that you can make with a bread maker aside from regular bread.

  • cinnamon rolls
  • buns
  • jams
  • bread pudding
  • bagels
  • baguettes
  • sour dough
  • focaccia

Some Helpful Buying Tips

If you plan on serving bread and want to make it presentable look out for bread machines that feature loaf shapes. You can go for cylindrical loaves or traditionally shaped loaves. For easy clean up try to purchase a bread machine with a removable bread pan so you can maintain your bread maker’s quality.

A special feature to look for is the Delay Start wherein you prepare the ingredients then bake at a desired time. Be mindful of perishables in your recipes when choosing to use this option. When baking bread you have a selection of baking cycles to choose from. Most bread machines offer standard baking modes but there are some brands that give you more variety. Also select a machine that you will not have trouble programming. Simple push button panels are advisable.

Bread machines come in different sizes and with certain machines you can bake bigger breads but the bigger the bread the bigger the space it will consume on your counter top. An added feature is recipe books that will give you new recipes and tips to baking using their bread machine.

Bread is a meal on it's own and an excellent companion to most foods. The fresh smell of bread makes our mouth water and our stomachs rumble. Have a great time baking delicious breads!
