Cool Unique Toasters

I started out to do a pop up toaster review for 2014 and while I was going through the different types of toasters on the market today, I was amazed to find how many cool unique toasters were available.

Apparently toasters do more than just toast bread! Some of the toasters we will look at cook eggs, will toast larger and longer pieces of toast and still others will cook hotdogs! (I wonder if Matlock knew about that?)

This fun Dualit Toaster comes in a variety of colors has a wonderful retro feel to it and does a marvelous job of toasting bread to perfection, it does not, however, butter your toast for you when it is ready.

One of the things I like about Matlock is his passion for hot dogs and his quest to find or make the perfect one. The other thing about Matlock is he is frugal (some might call him cheap LOL)

I'm a fan of Kosher Dogs cooked to perfection, with just the right additions like homemade Kraut and mustard, with a few sweet onions sprinkled on top - oh I'm making myself hungery.

I love his affection for the perfect hot dog don't you?

Yes, this fun little toaster actually cooks hot dogs and toasts the buns at the same time! How fun would this be to take to your next baseball tailgate party or keep in your camper?

I was thinking this was going to be outrageously expensive when I first found it but it is under $20 over on Amazon. Don't you think this would be a fun gift for someone; you know that person that has everything?

While it might look like it would be pain to clean, apparently it is set up so the clean up is a snap. Okay, I'm off to get one for my sister's birthday (shhh, don't tell her) She is someone that has everything and birthdays are particularly difficult for me when it comes to finding something that she either doesn't already have or that is a little on the unusual side. I'm hoping she loves it - if not she can always use it to cook hot dogs for her new puppy, Hank.

After a bit more investigation, I thought it might be a good idea to see how to use a hot dog toaster in action, because as they say a picture is worth a thousand words, right?

This couple is pretty funny, in my opinion. The hot dog maker they have here is not the same as the one I talk about above, but they do give some good commentary on how one of these actually works. Love the ending LOL

This was another in the list of cool unique toasters that I thought you had to know about. The Back to Basics toaster will poach one egg and toast 2 slices of toaster or English muffin, cause who doesn't love an egg sandwich with made of English muffins? Talk about the easiest "fast food" from home.

This Back to Basics Egg Toaster comes in two varieties. You can get a 2 slice/1 egg cooker model or a 4 slice/2 egg cooker model.

The thing I love about this 4 slice toaster is that the toasting bays are long allowing for either toasting of 4 slices of normal sized bread or you can use it to toast artisan bread that or over sized bread that is usually too large for your ordinary toaster even those with the wide bays.

This T-Fal toaster does have wide toasting bays too that are self adjusting so that your bread is evenly toasted.

I remember seeing a movie once where one of the characters was talking about perfect toast and thinking at the time, perfect toast is a marvelous thing. Personally I like my artisan bread toasted so that it has the smallest hit of burning around the edges and golden brown across the rest of the bread. Perfect for a big slab of homemade butter or drizzled with olive oil, topped with tomato and mozzarella cheese - Bruschetta at its best.
