Ideas for creating your very own patriotic garden!

This year, I'm going to create a patriotic garden space in my tiny backyard. We moved from a home with a fairly large yard to a new home with a very tiny garden area. Although I miss my big backyard, I want to make the most of the space I now have and create a meaningful, spirit-filled garden.

I usually garden mainly for function, with lots of veggies, herbs and berries. But this year, I feel like growing something that is just simply beautiful.

I saw a photo of a victory garden recently and I knew that I wanted my garden's theme to be patriotic, so I started searching for flowers, deocorations and ideas to make it happen. I hope you enjoy some of the things I found here!

Support Our Troops

This garden gnome rallies support for our troops!

I love the way this adorable garden gnome wears camo in support of our troops!

I have the perfect place for him. Wouldn't you love to have this little guy showing off his patriotic spirit in your garden?

Every garden needs a garden gnome. And I can't wait to see this one guarding mine!

This will be the location of my new patriotic garden!

Jim Shore Patriotic Garden Sign

This patriotic garden sign would look amazing on the side of a garden shed or hanging on the gate to your patriotic garden.

The flag is designed in classic Americana style and displays a banner that states, "One nation under God".

Jim Shore is well known for his artwork which is inspired by American folk art.

This is a cool idea and I love your twist on the Victory garden. I love blue flowers and buy them every spring along with the white for contrast and throw in a splash of red. I think I'll do a version of this. BTW that Support our Troops gnome is so cute and the price so right I had to get one. Great idea!

This is an interesting idea. I have a friend who has a patriotic garden by his back deck.

Your patriotic garden is a great idea for your new yard. I like white spider mums, and petuunias and hyacinth.

I planted a red, white and blue flower bed a few years ago. Very colorful and cheerful.

I like geraniums, so reliable. Impatiens are good for white but need shade. For blue, maybe phlox.
