My Cuisinart Glass Coffee Carafe Broke and I Need A Replacement

I broke my Cuisinart Glass Coffee Carafe and need a replacement - where do I find one? Not the words you want running through your head at 6:00 a.m. without a cup, full and in front of you.

There's no good time when it comes to breaking a glass coffee carafe, but in my mind there is no worse time than before the coffee is made and the first cup is poured. At the very least, it's easier to cope when you have that first cup of coffee in you. I'ts been a couple of years now since my elbow knocked the carafe off the counter and I had to replace it... I didn't follow my normal regimen, which is to first put the coffee pot in the sink and start filling, then turn back to the coffee maker and fill the filter with coffee, like I'd done a thousand mornings before.

On this morning, I for some reason pulled the carafe from the machine and set it on the counter and as I made a turn my elbow shot into the carafe sending it somewhat forcibly to the floor. "Oh' Darn", Yeah, that's what I said. With the real expletives echoing throughout the house, I cleaned up my mess and managed to improvise my coffee making procedure for the morning, gotta have my coffee.

A few minutes later I was online and found a replacement for my Cuisinart DCC-1200 at amazon and had my order entered. The replacement carafe was just under the $25.00 free shipping minimum, so I added a pack of charcoal filters to top it off, the order shipped within 2-3 days. I didn't care to pay extra for faster delivery, since it was free, the standard was fine with me.

In many cases you can improvise by using a carafe from another coffee maker or by purchasing a universal style glass carafe at a discount store, but they don't always fit just right and can look odd if they work at all.
