Easy to Install Garden Accessories The DIY Sprinkler System

Updated on June 5, 2016

A DIY Sprinkler Systems and Drip Systems

Several years ago we put in a full yard diy sprinkler system. At first it looked like it was going to be a difficult job, but it wasn't. These garden accessories turned out to be fairly easy to install. There are many brands to choose from with some that sit on top of the lawn and other need to be buried underground. There are also drip irrigation systems that slowly drip water on the garden or in your shrubs. These system use small amounts of water to keep plant watered continuously.

There are many guides and books to help you along. Deciding how many sprinkler heads is the first thing that needs to be calculated. Measurements must first be taken of the area where the sprinkler system will go. The system itself is fairly inexpensive. By doing it yourself you will save the cost of installation. Once the system is install it is set and run automatically.

The sprinkler heads you decide to use can be stationary or retractable. The retractable style make mowing easy, since the mower will run over the top of the sprinkler heads. Stationary sprinklers are generally used in gardens where mowing is not necessary. Which ever style is used you will no longer have to remember to water the lawn again.

How much to water your lawn

How much you water you lawn is dependent upon how much it rains and the climate where you live. Many parts of the country are free from the worry of watering due to large amounts of rain.

If you are not one of the lucky ones than you may find yourself watering on a daily basis. In places like the desert you may find that watering 3 times a day is not unusual. If you are one of these people you need a watering plan to alleviate the problem. A self-watering system is the answer.

PLEASE comment below and let us know how often you water.

Relax this Summer!

Install a self-watering sprinkler system.

Enjoy your yard.

A little work before summer starts will save you from hauling the hose out to water the lawn. I enjoy the automatic sprinkler system we installed a few years ago. It needs very little maintenance and it is a joy to have a beautiful lush yard. I enjoy letting the sprinklers do all of the work.

Not only does it water the lawn, but it keeps my flowers and garden watered. I enjoy fresh vegetable from my garden without have a lot of work to do. I think the system was well worth the investment and really cut down on my chores.

Check out the systems and you will find the are easy to install and reasonably priced. Once you have it installed you will wonder why you didn't do it years ago.

Advantages of Diy Sprinkler systems

The greatest advantage of a diy sprinkler system is the cost saving. Even if you have not done diy before this project is very easy. Contractors charge huge fee for installing and maintaining and in ground system. The initial saving can be in the thousands.

Another advantage is you already know how the system works after it is installed. So when you have a repair to make you may already have the parts. If not the repairs are simple.
