    if the drywall has been removed from a building that was mouldy do the studs that were attatched...

    to the drywall become contaminated?

    It is possible for mold to be on the studs as well as the insulation.  As a precaution the studs should be sprayed with a bleach solution and allowed to dry or paint with Kilz.

    Also remove the insulation and replace.  The mold will thrive on the paper facing of the insulation.

    I second what GoToGal said.  Assume the worst.  There is no hope for the drywall.  It will need to be torn out and replaced.  But before you do that the mold that was behind the drywall would need to be killed. Bleach is one way to kill them but there are other substances that are less toxic.
