Can I use grout instead of linseed putty for wooden window frames?
I need to redo the putty on my wooden window frames as it is dried out and breaking into pieces. I redid one door using linseed putty and it was a pain in my opinion. The whole house needs to be done and there are lots of windows and french doors. Grouting was very simple and quite a quick process in comparison.
If grout can be used for the putty for the wooden window frames, that would be great. But I have my doubts that the grout would adhere to the wood.
What product can be used other than linseed putty that would be faster and easier?
try using chauling . buy a chaulking gun and a tube of chaulking and apply it. it's easier, cheap and will last for years. you can also paint over it.
Dap makes a good window glaze in a caulking tube. I prefer the look of putty when glazing windows but the caulking takes a lot less time and dries faster. You will also need to pick up a caulking gun.
