Can a licensed real estate salesperson (in California) gain access to MLS without becoming a

broker's agent? Simply, can a newbie after passing a state exam have an access to MLS? If not, what has to be done?

I don't know about California, but typically you just have to be a member of the association.

You have to be a member of the National Realtor's Association to access the MLS.  It is one of their perks.   That means you need to go down to your local real estate board and sign up.  It is expensive if you do not sell much, but if you want to sell real estate at all, you will join.
