    Not sure what the application is, but there is a product called Waterlox that is amazing.  It is made from tung oil.  It gives the wood a very attractive appearance too and protects it well.

    Hello Shil-

    If the application is outdoors or below grade you may be better off just using one of the plastic lumber materials.  Wood, even cedar or redwood, or pressure treated fir, and water proofed will ultimately degrade and will require considerable maintenance, and then need to be replaced anyway.

    If you use tung oil, be sure to follow the instructions carefully, particularly on ventilation and storing used materials.  Tung oil drys so fast (one of its advantages) that it can ignite a rag  laying in the open air (a pretty big disadvantage).
