Is there an effective way to refinish kitchen counter tops?
The formica on my countertops is worn and old. Is there a safe and effective way of refinishing them without replacing the whole countertop?
Sure, it just depends on your counter top material. If you have a wood or butcher block counter top, you could refinish by sanding, staining, etc. If you have a laminate counter top, you could purchase a counter top transformation kit sold in most hardware stores. I haven't used one myself, but a friend of mine used one when remodeling a home and it came out great. If you go to Home Depot or Lowe's websites, you can type in "Refinish Countertop" in the search bar to find some options.
there is a 3 part product out that you can use. it will give any counter the look of granite and as long as you follow the instructions, it is easy to do. here in Ontario it retails for about $80.00 and it's worth it.check your local building supply store and they can show you the product.
