I'm sure there are loads of places with great deals on seeds, but if you're buying in bulk, you can find some super discount rates at "Johnny's Selected Seeds," website = http://www.johnnyseeds.com
It is an employee-owned company from Maine.  I plan on giving them a GO next spring, and may even try growing asparagus for the first time.  Good luck with your crops; cheers!

A more important factor than price is germination rate.  A low price on a packet of seeds doesn't matter if only a half dozen out of 50 or a hundred seeds actually germinates and grows into a plant.  Stick with reliable companies when buying seeds.  A good site to check is Garden Watchdog (http://davesgarden.com/products/gwd/) sort of the Angie's List for online plant/seed sellers.  Real people post real experiences with ordering from companies.  It has saved me from some expensive mistakes.

I'm glad that I have never had that problem!  I would be really mad if only 6 out of 50 seeds sprouted...   Soaking your seeds in water before planting also speeds up the germination process, although I rarely do that.

I would recommend www.artisticgardens.com.  I discovered this company after it was recommended by Martha Stewart's website.  I appreciate that the company is in Vermont, since I'm from New England.  More importantly though, I really enjoy that you are able to purchase sample packets of seeds from the company for only 40 cents.  This lets me try a wide variety of seeds without spending a lot on them.  They also have an amazing variety so I can try vegetables and herbs I wouldn't normally consider.  Their online catalog is at http://www.artisticgardens.com/LJDG2012_Online.pdf
