What are your tips for dealing with a house covered by dust created as a result of decorating?
How to get rid of the dust effectively, rather than just displacing it only for it to settle again. Also any tips for minimising the dust, apart from obviously using dustsheets (also not practical to use dust sheets over every surface when you have a family actively living in the house when the decorations are in process).
I have a few tips--I recently did a home renovation---
1. have the contractor attach a shopvac to any and all equipment that they can. It can be attached to many saws and cutting instruments. If not, just leave the nozzle close to where the work is taking place and turn it on, it will grab a little wayward dust-
2. Don't run your central air unit! If you can, turn off your heating or ac units as the air coming out tends to shift the dust around.
3. Force the dust outside. Try opening a window and put up a box fan facing out. This will Send some of the flying dust outside.
Hope those help-you may already be trying it!
