Is it better to negotiate for seller concessions or price?
When purchasing a home is it better to negotiate for seller concessions or price reductions assuming that a buyer has an appropriate amount to cover the closing costs and down payment?
I personally like the concessions. I've sold two home using seller concession and it helped the new home buyers credit wise. In a buyers market, it can be a great selling tool to attract more offers. This option is especially good if repairs are required before a mortgage is approved.
The concessions should be discussed and in the contract so the bank will look more favorably at the purchase.
