It depends on how you measure the success. Do you measure it in terms of monetary gain or in terms of personal fulfilment? You can, of course, measure it in both. I have written several articles on this subject. There are many outside influences which you won't have any control over but they will affect the way you run your business and have an impact on its future success or failure as the case may be. So you have to maintain flexibility because of this. Anything to do with property can be a minefield of unexpected and sometimes quite devastating events which can make a huge difference if you make the wrong decision. You need to think in the long term with anything concerning property and bear in mind that overnight success is never going to happen. You also need to be able to manage your finances and learn all the problems that are likely to arise with the properties you manage and the people who live in them.
