Handy Dandy Food Chopper, My Favorite Pampered Chef Gadget
A Kitchen Gadget I'm Never Without
It is true, I love my Pampered Chef kitchen products, but some I use more than others. My food chopper just happens to be the one kitchen tool I use the most and it's rarely in the cupboard. If someone were to take away all my Pampered Chef items and tell me I could only keep one, the food chopper would be the one I keep.
I use this chopper all year round from chopping onions to peppers to hard candies at Christmas. My kids love using the chopper because it's fun to slam, slam, slam and make noise in the kitchen.
I've seen other kitchen choppers in the store and I've used different brands when visiting friends, but no other compares. Friends have scoffed when I tout the benefits of my Pampered Chef chopper over their inferior chopper and it isn't until we pit the two against each other that they see the difference.
Foods to Use with the Food Chopper
- Nuts (walnuts, pecans, peanuts)
- Hard Candies (for toppings on candy, or cupcakes)
- Cooked Hamburger (minced fine for tacos)
- Sweet Peppers
- Jalapeno Peppers
- Chocolate bars
- Chocolate chips
What Makes The Pampered Chef Chopper Different?
Not only does the chopping blade come down when you "slap" on the plunger, but the mechanisms turns at a 25% angle, this then chops your food in a new area, not just in the same spot over and over. Another difference is the blade and plunger is spring action and this makes the handle pop up really fast, that's the fun part.
The blades are honed and very sharp and between the rotating cutter this chopper is not only fast but dices your ingredients without mashing them into oblivion.
It's not that I hate dicing and chopping vegetables with a knife, I had some pretty mean knife skills, but there are days you don't want to handle an onion, or have tears running down your face. Just place the chopper over the chunk of onion and the tear producing juice and fumes stay contained.
There is nothing more flavorful than fresh garlic. But there is nothing more frustrating than trying to peel and chop fresh garlic. With the Pampered Chef garlic press all you do is separate a glove of garlic, place in the metal press, squeeze, and it comes out through little holes.
Just remove the peel from the inside. Comes with a handy dandy "hole cleaner" to clean the press.
I no longer use a rolling pin for pie crust or cookies. I should just throw it away as it's taking up room at the back of my drawer.
This double pastry and pizza roller will roll out pie crust right in the pie plate and the small side gets right down into the corner and pushes it up the side.
I also use it for rolling out pizza crust or canned biscuits when I make pigs in a blanket. Handy Dandy
Bamboo Wooden Spoons
If you like to use wooden spoons you will LOVE bamboo spoons. In fact, throw away your wooden spoons and get a set of bamboo kitchen spoons instead.
My Pampered Chef bamboo spoons and spatula is almost ten years old and they are just as good as the day I bought them.
Bamboo spoons are better than wooden spoons because the fibers are closer together and they don't absorb moisture or get the "frayed" edges at the bottom
My Other Favorite Pampered Chef Products
I have other tools in my kitchen which I also consider essential, one which make cooking easier, faster and just more fun. Quality kitchen equipment feels good in your hands and make fixing meals a joy. With life being busy home cooked meals are a luxury and don't happen often enough, so when you do get to fix your family nutritious meals make it an experience.
