Harley Davidson Neon Signs & Home Decor Ideas

You're gonna love this collection of Harley Davidson neon signs, biker decorations and other fun Harley decor to pay homage to America's favorite motorcycle.

To a real Harley devotee, there's nothing like Harley Davidson's Bar & Shield and the striking detail of HD's flame eagle done up in neon. And decorating in true Harley design is testament to your beloved motorcycle, the need for speed and the thrill and spirit of the outdoors, all melded into one show~stopping space.

But decorating in true Harley style shouldn't cost you tons of money ~ and then some. I know you're saving up for that Boss Hog you've been pining for, for far too long. You just need to know how to get that dude den, biker bar at home, man cave or whatever you call your clubhouse situated and appropriately appointed.

Appropriately appointed? Yes, I imagine you're wondering what all that means; trust me, it's not all that hard.

Let me show you the way to 'Harley Heaven at Home'.

Scroll down for ultra-cool Harley Davidson neon signs, rugs, clocks, and other fun Harley Davidson accessories and ideas to get you well on your way to biker bliss ~ Harley style.

Successful decor means capitalizing on the similarities of each piece. Notice how the orange, beige and black dominates each art piece along with the clock. Pulling colors from the clock, you can decide what looks best for your other wall art. These vintage~look prints and posters all have beige as the base/background. You might opt for a sandy or other, similar earthy wall color to display these pieces. You can begin with these few decor elements and build around them. Be careful not to mix historical with modern Harley-Davidson decor, as you'll have a conflicting, unbalanced look. Not good for your room. Define your palette with the focal point and stay on course for best results.

Decorating with Neon & Harley Wings

It's obvious that the Harley-Davidson eagle wings are the strong element of these wall decor pieces. Hang the neon sign in your room's prime real~estate spot and let it earn its keep as your room's defining element. Use the wings sparingly on opposite walls or floor space. Using more than a few key pieces dilutes the strength of your best decor, so do go easy on the wings. Pull a color from your favorite wall art and paint your walls accordingly in a similar hue. Take the art piece to the paint or hardware store and get a computer matched paint sample. Put several strokes of paint on each wall to get an idea of how the light plays on the wall's color. What looks great on one wall may be too dark/light on another. Now's the time to realize a potential problem before you've painted your whole room. I've made that mistake and it's not amusing. Less is more when it comes to similar, stand~out designs. Give your strongest pieces room to command attention.

Harley-Davidson Neon Clocks - Form & Function

I love decor with a purpose ~form with function. Consider the lower price on thee Harley-Davidson neon clocks versus the signs to save on your decorating dollar. I'd recommend displaying one of these in a small space or on a narrow wall. You don't want the your decor to get "lost' in a sea of wall space, where the neon will lose its value as a strong element in your space. A cool way to really play up the neon, is too hang several in a row for a real WoW.

Budget-Friendly Neon Signs - by eBay

If you're dead~set on a Harley Davidson Neon Sign, here's your chance at grabbing the goods for less. I'm surprised at some of the offering/opening bids. Neon signs are not cheap by any stretch of the imagination but for the lower prices here, they're worth considering. Bid soon but bid smart and you'll be less apt to overpay. It's hard to truly enjoy anything when you've paid way too much for it..

Rarer Neon Signs - Offered by eBay

This collection of Harley-Davidson neon signs and clocks are not the everyday variety I've seen in stores; they're usually from another time period's market. If you're a Harley collector, these are pieces you'll want to consider and if you're the decorator, these neon treats will make a great element to your decor.

These Harley Davidson Neon Signs are a rare find, so don't sleep on it lest you miss out. Bid your absolute highest and leave the cards to fall where they may. If you bid at the last minute you may be tempted to pay more than you reasonably should have; it's easy to get caught up in the moment (I've been there). Be careful but not lazy about it. Those auctions expire pretty quickly.

I dunno about you but I think Miss Brigitt Bardot is more familiar with that hanging rope that the bike. None the less, this 1968 video (was it called a video back then?) is intriguing.

      - I am one of those bag researching (obsessed) pelpoe that you mentioned. I've been ho-humming about what camera bag to get for weeks now. I'm still not sure! I want something big enough to keep my 5d with lens on + one more lens and then my wallet/cell phone for when i'm travelling walking around so i don't want it to be ridiculously huge but i want it to be big enough in case i'm on a photoshoot and need to bring a lot more gear. Thanks so much for this post! It was really informative and is helping me make my decision. Currently I'm between the Libby bag and the Juju bag. Tough choice!September 12, 2012 12:04 pm

      - I'm trying to dedcie between the Kelly Moore B-HOBO and a Ketti. Do you have a review of the Ketti one too? Couldn't find it if you did. My main concern with the Ketti is does the straps slide off your shoulder? I find often when bags have two straps that can be the case. I had epiphanie's Ginger bag and didn't like it. The bottom was so bulky and huge it didn't lay nicely next to my body and was very awkward when adding the messenger strap. The hobo looks way more steamlined. I'm mainly looking for an everyday bag that will also accomodate my slr camera when I want that too.June 13, 2012 10:50 am
