How To Fold Towels And Save Space While Doing It

Updated on July 9, 2017

Yes I have figured out a way to save space

This is one of those things that I was playing around with and found that it worked. To the best of my memory I have always done the triple fold on towels. "Thanks mom".

My job at the time was overnight. This include cleaning the house. And yes doing laundry. Both clothes and linens. Sheets and pillow cases were easy. But when it came to towels some seamed different. Mine were smaller than the others. Did they shrink in the wash? No when unfolding them they were the same size.

What did I do? I took out all the towels and refolded them my way. This took a bit of time as there was more than one towel cabinet. Four to be exact. When I finished there was more room available for more towels and other linens. I showed the other person that I was working with that evening. And this impressed them. Its amazing how something small can make can make a difference. At that point the towels got a make over and folded that way ever sense.

And yes while taking pictures, just like when I fold laundry, the cat decided to join in.

OK I need to know

Who in your household folds the towels?

A story about towels.

Yes I have one.

In the link below there are three trips that I took to Florida. One was me by myself. When I went down I brought a towel. But just to make sure my grand parents had a new towel for me. It was one from Cutty Sark. Interesting that I don't drink but that towel was large. Meaning I could wrap up in it. That was most of my body not just around the shoulders. Not as big as my current towel but still a good size. I the bad news it was used to do house hold clean up. Did not want to try to clean it. Bummer. Sorry no pictures to share.

If hanging up the towels then you will still do the first two steps. Then fold it in half and then fold it in half again.

Hang It Up - Depending on space the second fold from above may not be necessary.
