Umbrella Buying Guide - Patio and Deck Offset Umbrellas

Got new patio furniture?, happy the way you have everything set out?, but, are you really finished yet? well, how about a nice patio umbrella? after all, not all decks and patios are shaded, so why not ensure some first class protection for yourself/loved ones and visitors, from the blazing hot sun with one of these sleek and elegant Patio and Deck Offset Umbrellas.

The following information is purely a guide to assist you in deciding which is the right patio/deck umbrella for you. Buying a Patio and Deck Offset Umbrella is easy as long as you know what you want! So before rushing off to purchase one, have a browse over these guidelines and they should give you an idea of which is the right umbrella for your deck/patio!

  1. Umbrella Size - They come in various sizes so have a look and see how much shade you will be needing and the size of space you have for the umbrella. A 10' x 10' (square) umbrella will give you shade protection of around 594 sq.ft
  2. Umbrella Poles Average pole size is around 8 feet.
  3. Tilting/Offset Umbrellas Offer more options for shade. Remember the sun never stays in the same place and not always directly overhead. The Patio/Deck Offset Umbrella can be set at anytime of the day for maximum sun protection.
  4. Stands - A table umbrella generally require a much lighter base than all other umbrellas since the table provides a lot of the support, whereas the free standing umbrella will require a much heavier base for support. Your offset umbrellas require a stand that provides much more than just weight, you will require a three or four point stand to counterbalance the weight of the offset canopy.
  5. Fabric Umbrella - fabric comes in all shades of colors and patterns, normally a nice plain color will suffice. Your fabric should be weather resistant, and breathable fabric is a good choice, this stays cool under the hot sun. Your choice of fabric will also determine the durability and lasting beauty of your umbrella, not too mention it shall also affect the cost.
  6. Cost How often will you be using your umbrella, consider this before you decide on how much you would like to spend, as well as any other patio furniture!
  7. No matter which umbrella you choose, stay cool, stay safe!

This umbrella comes with 18 LED solar powered lights which are positioned on the ribs and 12 additional lights located at the center cluster. The solar batteries are located on top of the umbrella, charging through daylight hours and ensures you have ample power once the sun goes down. I like how the canopy is water or mold resistant and that it comes with a base that is filled with water.

We lost most of our umbrellas in the last 100 mph wind event. I like to have at least three on the patio to keep things cool. Nice selections!
