Standard Bar Counter Height
Measurements For A Kitchen Counter
I'm compiling some info here from my ongoing research for my kitchen remodel - standard heights for counters, etc.. I figure it may be helpful to others since I had to find the pieces from several different sources. I'll add more as I go.
Standard and typical measurements
The standard height for a bar in your kitchen is 42 inches. This takes into account the typical stool which is 34 inches high. This is not a set requirement and there are other common heights which take into account taller stools.
The typical depth of a bar counter is anywhere from 12 to 24 inches (a placemat is typically 12-14 inches deep). I would personally go with a minimum of 14 inches.
The typical regular kitchen counter height is 36 inches.
The typical depth of the regular kitchen counter is 25.5 inches.
I Love Redesigning ...
I once bought a "Bob Villa" version of this. It was really simple but still worthwhile to help materialize the creative visions and to spark new visions and possibilities.
My Bar Counter Project - Tadaa ...
Well, here is the result of my researching and hard work. The bar counter that I always wanted. I made this from scratch, using two layers of laminated wood boards, three granite tiles (2 ft x 1 ft) and stained wood moulding edges. Turned out pretty well, I'd say. The full depth of the counter is about 16 inches.
