What to Consider When Buying a Flower Vase

A finance student who recently found some love and interest in interior design, and oh, flowers too.

The art of having flowers and specified plant species close to our environment has been a practice since the medieval ages, today it is an outstanding activity. Interior designers and real estate developers have integrated the skill in their work and the results are ever amazing. Interior designers would want to create space for flowers by considering the concept of the vase that is the shape, size, color and the material used in making the vase. Developers would also include the flower space in their architectural designs and precisely consider the flower vases. Customer tastes are changing and they would like to work with both the developer and the interior designer in a step to step process so that the whole thing suits their tastes.

Before deciding on the flower and plant layouts, there is always the need to have general information about flower vases. Some people will consider planting the flowers on the ground but trust me vases make the whole concept exceptional.

Psychologists will tell you that flowers will enable you to feel better, improve your thinking and also boost your moods. Apart from that flowers compliment the interior design, in fact, it is now part of it, making your rooms and environment brighter and presentable, in the case of office rooms. For those with little rooms, plants clean the air and get rid of the stuffy atmosphere. All these only happen if you first consider the foundation that is the flower vases.

What to Consider

Space.

Small, medium to large spaces will require different sizes of vases, for instance, living rooms are categorically medium to large size and this will, therefore, determine the decision of vase sizes. Some people will prefer small vases, strategically positioned in the large living room while others may consider one large vase with a huge flower plant that never goes unnoticed. There is a disparity of what choices people will make on this bit of space. Organizations have different office space layouts and every employee would love to have a virtuous space. A low partitioned office layout saves the day as every employee would have a choice of flower, unlike the cumbersome traditional layout where large flower vase could be placed anywhere.

The material.

There are hundreds of materials that can make flower vases. I prefer ceramic materials to the fragile glass, which people consider classy. Wood could be a smarter option but it wears out easily. Clay could be the best because it is much of tradition and they come cheaply with decorative features. I have also seen plastic and soapstone vases but the choice will all depend on the nature of the plant and the person’s attitude. Live plants that overgrow will perhaps need a lot of attention like watering, pruning, and cleaning will require clay vases or wood vases. This is where the subject of size comes into play. Ideally, plants and flowers that grow into large sizes will need large vases as compared to the smaller plants.

The Shape

Shape reveals how classy you would like your rooms to look. Glass and wood vases can be designed into pyramidal and also many attractive geometrical shapes .the shape will also determine the localization of the vase in the room. Some vase shapes will require support for stability where wooden and metal stands will serve for the purpose. The shape will also determine the space the vase will consume in the room. When choosing the shape, remember that the vase should bring the idea of classy.

The color

Color all depends on the taste of the user. For instance, girls will love shouting colors while the rest of the population will love colors that are simple and cool. The choice of color ascertains the nature of the room. Remember the flower should brighten the room and complement the flower into perfection, the vase color matters a lot. Glass will always come with a bright and shiny feature that reflects light and autocomplete brightness. Clay and ceramic ones often have slightly dumb colors that reflect less or almost no light and therefore the positioning of the vase will affect the results. I have seen offices complimenting these type of vases with extra artificial light and the whole thing ends up being marvelous.

Other Basic Considerations

There are other factors that complement the perfection of flower vases apart from the original appearance of the vases. Positioning is one of them. At homes, the suitability of position will come with owner taste .some will choose to hang the vases on the walls or place them on a lifted position behind the seats in the living rooms. Others may choose to place them in the corners of the rooms, on or under the tables- this is in the case of see-through tables.

Offices would love to place them on their reception desks and in the waiting rooms. Others place them right in the entrance of the office. The location reason, in this case, will also determine the size of the vase. Those placed on the entrance will always be big in size to attract visitors or keep them admiring as they await their turn to be served.

Another issue is that at some point the flower vase and its component will cease to amaze the eyes and the taste of the owner. In this case, a replacement will be a priority and the choices made at first will determine the ease of change. I will not feel okay discarding a huge porcelain vase, which carried the cost because I no longer like it. In this case, the material will play a smart role since it can be sold out as a second hand.

The flower or plant, in general, should complement the vase and the outlook of the room. The choice of a plant will be a wise decision to make. Offices will prefer plants that have no scent because of the different visitors it gets. The extent to which the plant grows should also be considered, some would need support or have overgrowing roots. General plant hygiene should be considered too, as some plants have leaves that rot while aging or others just dry up.

conclusion

All these components play hand in hand and any slight mistake in the choices will make you hate flowers at the expense of the vases. When choosing the kind of vase, just like any serious issues, carry out due diligence so that the whole thing ends up tasting the way you would love it to be. There are florists that could help in the decision of the vase and also remember that the right flower compliments the right vase. Do not let other people chose or design your flower layout without your consent or personal ideas, you may end up crashing the vases because of poor positioning or start afresh because you don’t like the workings.
