Look at These Dirty Pavers

Our Projects with the Washer

It's fall cleaning time at our Florida home. It sure amazes me how much black gunk builds up on the pavers in our lanai. Instead of varied brick tones, the surface is nearly a solid black. Yuck.

That's where the pressure washer comes to the rescue. My husband hooks it up to our hose and starts spraying. Our lanai is big, so it takes a few hours to spray it all.

As he aims the nozzle at each grubby square, the high-pressure spray peels away the black mold to reveal the colorful paving block. When he finishes, it looks like new.

Over the years and at different homes, he's owned a number of pressure washers. This current one is the best of all. It has a long power cord so he doesn't have to get out the extension cord. It has a long hose so he doesn't have to keep moving the machine around.

I volunteered to spray for awhile, so he could take a break. Nope, he wasn't going to give up the power to anyone else. I think there's kind of a zen thing going with the water spraying and the clean surface appearing from beneath the grunge. It wasn't just altruism on my part, it really does look like fun.

This is the most recent one my husband got and he likes it best of all. Since this has a 20 foot hose, you don't have to move it very often. You can move around easily.

The power cord is 30 foot long, so that works fine for our patio and deck areas.

Amazing difference! Compare the moldy area with the clean area. Remarkable improvement.

He's still working. We move all the plants to one side so he can wash where they were. He even cleans the fountain using the machine.

All cleaned up and the plants and patio furniture back in place. Can't wait to relax with a nice cold drink and put my feet up.

We cleaned our lanai with just plain water, but for the deck, we prefer to use soap like the 12-pack shown here.

What Can You Wash with a High-Pressure Sprayer Like This?

How about your sidewalk, your car, the deck, around the pool, the siding of your house and much more. How about those pesky window shutters? They are such a pain to clean by hand, but easy with a sprayer like this.

Want to really clean those venetian blinds? Take them outside and spray them with this machine. Goodbye to dust and mold spots. The blinds will really sparkle when you finish.

Use it to clean lawn furniture too.

I Clean My Mini-Blinds with a Pressure Washer

Instead of using sprays like these and laboriously cleaning each slat of the mini-blinds by hand, I use my pressure washer. I take the blinds down from the window and take them out to the deck. I spray them and the dust & mold spots are gone!

Check out the videos I've featured here which contains a review of the pressure washer and the ones showing how to use it on different surfaces.

@Frischy: Sure wouldn't want to scrub it with a brush on my hands and knees. Glad they invented pressure washers.
