Creating a Wrestling Bedroom for Kids
WWE Bedroom Decor: From Room to Wrestling Ring
WWE bedding plays a major role in the success of your kid's wrestling themed bedroom, making for the ideal focal piece and laying a great foundation for the rest of your themed space.
And appointing your boys or girls room with fun, wrestling-themed decor, accessories and artwork is pure enjoyment--even if you aren't the decorating type. With a few decorating basics and unique ideas, we'll go from blank slate to a space befitting a wrestling champion.
Scroll down for a glimpse of popular WWE wrestling, comforter and bedding sets along with some of my unique decor ideas for getting your kid's bedroom from 'room to wrestling ring' without much fuss and time.
Getting Started with Your Themed Bedroom: Bedding Plays Host
Creating a cool focal point is the ideal way to decorate in your planned wrestling theme. Since your child's bed will most likely be the room's biggest contribution, a wrestling bedding set will certainly set the stage.
Comforters and other bedding have quite the job of introducing your room's theme while warming and grounding your space in an intriguing and inviting fashion. That's a huge job description.
Just think of the bed as having a starring role in your WWE theme and everything around it as the supporting actors, per se.
WWe bedding sets like these have the action-packed color and value to make a big presentation in your child's space.
Ideally, you want your bedding to seemingly 'leap' from the wall and command attention. A successful focal point will fulfill all these requirements and set your wrestling theme in motion.
Bedding Makes a Great First Impression
Wrestling Sheet Set: A WWE Theme-Booster
Turn Down Your Comforter to Expose Your Wrestling Sheet Set
Wrestling themed sheet sets like this WWE Champions design bedding is a great way to build upon your related pieces (a process called layering). You can save on your decorating budget using a solid blue comforter and tucking these sheets just underneath. Roll down your comforter part-way to expose the sheet set's design for added dimension and interest.
A fabulous finish to otherwise plain bedding.

When Just the Comforter Will Do: Using a Mini Wrestling Bedding Set
Especially in small bedroom spaces, you don't need a lot of drama and decor all at once. It's here where mini comforter sets like this WWE-themed comforter will lend your space a fabulous focal image.
Once you've established your main focal point with a sipe comforter set like this one, you can get by with budget-friendly standard size wrestling posters (I'll talk ore about them later). Throw in a few accessories and VIOLA! you're good to go.
Solid Bedding Needs a Themed Sheet Set
Put Your Wrestling Sheet Set to Use with Plain Bedding
While the WWE bedding sets will introduce your wrestling theme at first sight, you can realize a better, long term investment using nondescript (plain) bedding like the royal blue comforter set here (at left). Yes, it's just 'plain 'ol' bedding versus the official comforters but you'll have the option of changing out your decor when your child outgrows their wrestling phase.
Bedding is typically the most expensive decor purchase you'll make, so plain sets are a great idea, as you can simply change out a few accessories and posters and you're good to go on the next themed adventure.
Pair up a plain comforter with WWE accent pillows and add a themed sheet set with your child's favorite wrestling stars. In minutes, you've transformed that plain blue comforter into a showpiece!
Consider adding a folded blanket or throw like the one, here at the foot of the bed and turn the comforter down slightly to expose the themed sheet set for a cool finish.
Dressing Windows with Sheer Panels
Easy & Budget Friendly WWE Valance
Window valances like this WWE panel are great ways to dress your window without going into overdrive with your wrestling theme. I suggest pairing these up with super-cheap sheer window panels.
You'll have 'just enough' to tie your window with other key pieces. Consider flanking your window with blue panels along with black panels on the inside.
Wrestling Panels Add to Your Theme
Dressing Your Windows: Theme or No?
I'm more inclined to use plain panels when dressing windows, as themed pieces can quickly swallow a room whole and be quite overwhelming. But panels like those here don't have a crazy-busy print on them, so they'll be just right even in a smaller bedroom.
If you want to save on decor, opt out of themed decor and consider using blue and black sheer panels that you'll hang side-by-side in blue, then black order.
Sheer panels can be had for very little per pair and you can use any number of fun color combinations.
Avoid 'System' Overload with Your Wrestling Mania
Like the WWE curtains above, be sure you add themed accessories wisely, lest the room be overrun with wrestling mania. You'll want your pillows and other fun, themed pieces to stand out in support of your theme without appearing cluttered.
Chose a few accent pillows that contrast with your bedding or side chair. Let each accessory stand out on its own without bumping into too many like pieces.
Theme overload will lessen the impact of your really important standouts, so remember to think 'less is more'.
Add Dimension to Your Kid's Bedroom Decor
Even in kids' bedroom, ideally, your bed should be plush and welcoming and most often beds fall flat, as they lack any layering. One easy way to achieve the warmth you'll need is with pillows; they make great, useful accessories and really build up your decor.
Many bed sets have pillow shams you can add a pillow or two like this one here, in front of your shams; it's just the right shape and size to pull off the look you're after.

Create a Relationship Between Furniture Pieces
Using two like pillows like these, in separate areas is a great way to tie your furniture pieces and decor together. If your kid's bedroom is like most and you've a few mixed pieces of furniture, accessories can be a way to create a relationship between them.
Consider placing one pillow on your bed and another on a nearby chair or bean bag to create depth among dissimilar pieces.
Posters Make Fabulous Wall Art on the Cheap
Sizable Wrestling Decor on the Cheap
Using Standard Size Posters as Wall Art
When decorating for kids, my biggest piece of advice relating to artwork is in using the standard size posters like these wrestling faves, as wall art. Most posters of any subject are available in the 24"x36" size, meaning you'll only have to buy standard size frames once and merely change out the posters when your child's taste changes.
I buy poster frames from the big box craft stores where you can download a weekly coupon on your smartphone.
When hanging wall art be sure your artwork's size is commensurate with the wall's size: large wall expanses need large pieces of art, while narrow walls do well with smaller pictures. I've seen too many tiny works of art get lost in a 'sea' of wall space.
For a great, finished look, use framed wrestling-themed posters hung gallery style in a line, or better yet, draw out an arrangement on paper to see what works best; just try to keep your wall and poster sizes comparable and your art will look fabulous.
Sizing Tip: Before you pop your posters in their frames, use painters' tape to temporarily affix the posters to your wall and study a few arrangements to discern which works best for you.

Wall Decals-- Amazing Wall Art: More for Less
Large John Cena Wall Decal
Large Wall Art: Your Best Bet
Wall art is best when it's uber-large and one giant piece fares far better in making an impressive statement than do lots of small frames that act to clutter your space. Wrestling wall decals like these are a fabulous way to get your theme front and center of your new bedroom; they're easy to apply, removable, reusable and downright budget-friendly.
Can you tell I'm partial? I say this as I reflect upon being atop a ladder, paintbrush in hand and a rainbow of paint in my hair. Decals make easy work of achieving impressive art pieces and are kid-friendly.
A Creative Tip:
There's no end to what visual you can create by cutting away certain elements of a huge wall decal like those above. You can create an wrestling action-type mural or make a virtual headboard. I love the giant decals, as they make the largest impact in a space. I only included a few examples, here but they're available in countless wrestling designs.
Wrestling Belt: Decorating Outside the 'Box'
Wall Art: Thinking Outside the Ring . . . er . . . Box
If you're child is a fan of wrestling in general, chances are you're no stranger to the licensed toys like this championship belt. Indeed, it's quite the novelty but you can also look at it as potential artwork. I've often said, "Put a frame around it and you've got art."
Look around for other related toys you can repurpose into art forms. Place action figures on shelves and use those battery-operated LED lights (with a remote) behind the forms for instant drama. You can also use the string lights around your frames for a cool glow you'll both love.
When decorating, think of ordinary objects as art and you'll be surprised at what you come up with.
Making the Most of Wall Art: Be Unconventional
DIY: Creating a One-of-a-Kind Wall Installation
Some of my best ideas have come from repurposing pieces, either putting a frame around an object or finding a novel way of using art in general.
I got excited seeing these champion cardboard cutouts; they're just the thing to make one huge impression in your wrestling themed space. I mention how you can create your own amazing wrestling art forms below.
Awesome Wrestling Room Wall Art How-Tos
Here's how to get unique results for your wrestling bedroom decor: Using your child's favorite wrestlers, group several on your focal wall as though they're posing for a poster. Instead of applying the cutouts flush with the wall, use small squares of leftover styrofoam at each corner of the pieces; this way, you'll achieve a 3D effect.
For a really awesome result, tape rope lighting to the backs of the cutouts. Come nightfall, turn the lights on for an amazing backlit art installation.
Many light sets come with remote, so your child won't have to touch the figures.
What an amazing night light this will make!
Those Simple Things
WWE Wrestling Themed 5" Light Switch Cover
You really don't have to go over budget when decorating, as there's tons of cheaper alternatives to pricey, wrestling-related decor pieces. Simple things like this light switch cover featuring your favorite wrestlers is special to kids of all ages. Too, it's an easy change out when time comes to retire the WWE pros for something new.
Remember, not everything in the room need be WWE themed but a few choice pieces make a bigger impact when used sparingly.
A few cherished additions will be remembered long after the wrestling craze morphs into the next phase of design. It's the little things that count.
