Absolute Proof: You CAN Make Money HubPages

Updated on February 6, 2008

I Did. Here's the Proof.

Money Made On HubPages
Money Made On HubPages

You CAN Make Money On HubPages

IT IS TRUE. All the hype. Every bit of it. It IS possible to make money online.

There I was, wallowing in blog obscurity (the blogosphere, to those in the know) promoting, emailing, linking; promoting, emailing, linking; promoting, emailing, linking. You know the drill.

And yet, zero revenue. Granted, my blog was not designed primarily as a revenue stream, but I began believing all the "how to's" and "add sense" and began to think, "...just maybe."

Until, one day, I found HubPages. Now, I am called a "Prodigy". I have fans (really, fans, they label themselves such). I get fan mail (the politically correct term is "comments", but, same thing). And I will soon retire into the lap of luxury.

Thank You All.

...I'd like to take this opportunity to thank HubPages. If it was not for you, I would still be a lone voice in the sea of blogs, and lenses, and hubs. I will sing your praises to anyone who will listen. You have made me who I am today.

...I'd like to thank my wife for supporting me over this past month, and standing by me while I struggled to climb my way to the top here at HubPages. I'm sure it's been as hard on her as it has on me, and I love her more for her support. All the missed dinners, proofreadings, stroking my ego and telling me, "Very good, honey.", I owe you more than you can ever know.

...Last, but most certainly not least, I'd like to thank YOU, my fans; my readers, without you who knows where I would be today. And, to all of the little people out there who made this all possible, I say, "Thank You(!), from the bottom of my heart."

I gladly, but humbly, accept the title of "Prodigy" and the payday that comes with it. I will never forget where I came from. I will remember you all, I promise.

Author's Note:

The title "Prodigy" no longer applies as in just six short weeks I have attained the title "Expert", my prodigiousness was apparently apparent to others as well.

I assume the financial rewards will reflect this expertise as well.

After spending a hundred thousand dollars on a proper education, with an emphasis in creative writing, I've made back about twenty bucks so far. I guess I have a long way to go to break even. I think I'll frame my first payout check.

Cash is a bonus from using Hubpages, there are so many benefits other than that. I started using them for SEO mainly, now i see the many benefits.

Very funny Hub, I definitely enjoyed reading it. I am sure with this hub alone you have made a lot more money. Although I am very new to all of this, I am hoping to be able to make around $1 within my first week, but we will see.

I'm hoping for SEO benefits of using hubpages, I never really expected I'd make cash from it. I was using ezinearticles.com and noticed hubpages placed really well in serps so figured I'd write here too. If I end up making cash that's awesome, if not its ok.

I am glad to hear people are at least making money. Well I see it has been 14 months since your post. Have you made any more? Can you afford to trick out your car with floormats? I have been affiliate marketing for about a month and a half so far I made one sale and made $16.55 but that was using clickbank and google adwords. Yeah still waiting to get my investment in adwords back. This article really made me feel better about my success. Thank You.

I just signed up with hubpages. I'm a journalist looking to go freelance. Well, at least you can make the equivalent of what a bank gives you in interest (that is if you live paycheck to paycheck like me:) )

I have a few places to recommend to you and others if you are looking to write and make some money.

Elance and ODesk are good if you are willing to bid on jobs. The pay is the best, but you have to compete. I did a simple formatting job and made $50.

Wired Flame is good money for writing occasional articles -- most jobs are forum boosting -- pays well, too. However, they only have a few jobs a week. Don't count on picking up more than $20 a week. Only good for supplementing other income.

Associate Content mostly pays on advertising commission. However, if you're a journalist like me who is comfortable with assignments I recommend checking out their Call for Content. Many of them pay up front once you finish the assignment. Typically, you would average $2-3 for 500 words.

Shared Reviews is a lot of fun. Pretty good community where you can review anything you want (i think minimum of 700 words). I recommend first creating a huge friend list to vote on your articles and then create a large base of articles -- once you do this you earn each month on your articles.

Helium seems okay. You earn each month on articles you write. I hear they are switching to a system similar to Associated Content where you get a guaranteed rate if you write in certain categories.

Mylot is easy money if you like discussion room like chats. However, it's a few cents per post, so don't depend too much on it. Nice extra cash -- and you can talk about whatever you want.

Storymash -- still testing it out -- but if you like fiction -- you can collectively write fiction with others and make revenue.

Stay away from Reviews Arena -- they don't run their site very well.

Just Answer seems okay -- still testing it. You have to be an expert in something like health, writing, math, cars, etc.

Well, this is all I have for now. I'm testing some other stuff. Maybe I'll share later.

Best wishes and love to all writers out there

      robin

Does ANYONE make money at hubpages? It's a time consuming project if you are looking at it in a productive way. Of course, I do find writing and reading the hubs interesting and there are some very good writers here. Too bad we could not make some better money from this hobby. Making money online is just plain difficult, and I have yet to meet my first internet millionaire, but I am keeping my fingers crossed...who knows?

Hey, great Hub! I started Hubpages just two days ago and posted three articles based on klnowledge I have about working out. Apart from the writing part, I don't have CLUE how the rest works and the stuff about affiliates is confusing, to say the least. But I really, really enjoyed reading this Hub, it's great to see somebody who's been here a while doing so great and it inspires me to continue writing and publishing my own stuff. Many thanks, Kieran.

I have been given some serious consideration to all of the "adword" strategies, I even purchased an e-book from internet guru, Chris Carp____ a while back. Not sure which direction to head but having a blog spot makes sense. That is provided the affiliate links are combined with meaningful content.

Looking for serious, experienced web-marketers who are willing to share some of their insights without the upfront $$$ for yet another ebook strategy.

Toooo Funny! I don't know if I am allowed to do this, but I'd like you to be able to buy your wife a dinner so you may want to hop on over to http://blog.worldvillage.com/ sign up, write a few articles (even point to your hub pages but not blatently), use the right keywords and very quickly get on the third page of google AND earn several dollars per week! I quit writing for ezine articles and now focus on worldvillage. My monthly income from them averages a whopping $100 now which really isn't too bad. It's 1/3 of my montly adsense revenue. It's 2AM. Thanks so much for making me laugh. I needed it! God bless YOU two.

Thanks Peter. Thats a great tool and I use it regularly now. I see with paintshop the image can be compressed as well. Great tip and thanks for letting me know.

I use a program called Gadwin Printscreen. It is free to download and easy to use. It allows you to capture as a jpg file any portion of your computer screen.

I would be interested to know if your ctr went up after you pulicized your hub? I personally found one add that attracted me. Can you tell me how do you take snapshots of those screens and put them here in your post?

I suggest you give all this wealth to the little lady standing by her man!

      She deserves Every penny.

It's sad not all people enjoy the use of 'Computer-land' as we all do. Or at least understand our time on!

There is a "Links' capsule that you can add to any hub and insert links to any website. As long as your hubs are not too promotional of other sites, there shouldn't be a problem
