Music and how it explains you
Music and you
Have you ever wondered what people think of you because of your music?
I have, actually people in my own family have told me things that they THINK I am, but I'm not. For example, I like the bands Paramore and Metro Station. And unfortunately I have a very critic dad. He thinks that since I like rock that I'm going to start acting different, or trying to dress like a rocker. Honestly I think he was just starting with me. Or at least that was what I thought till one day I was in my room listening to Panic! at The Disco's song "Nine in The Afternoon" and my mom asked me who it was, normal question, and I answered her. Then she asked me one of the strangest questions, it was something I had never thought about... She asked me how I started liking the music I listen to. I just heard it on my friend's mp3, and the TV, and the radio, things that I thought was a normal way to find new music. Then she just flat out told me that she kind of likes my music but you can't dance to it so not that much. It's my life and I choose what music is in it. And so does everyone else.
Then I started thinking what OTHER people thought of me because of my music.

Some people think that if you listen to rap you're ghetto or something like that. That's what they think. Maybe that is you, and maybe it's not. Most of the people that I know that listen to rap music are the farthest thing from ghetto, just because they think that the song is something doesn't mean that the people that listen to it are, now does it?

Most people that don't like Spanish music don't like it because they can't understand it, and they think that you don't know what it means if you don't look Spanish.
People think that I don't know what my favorite song "Enamorado De Ti" means because I don't look Hispanic, in-fact I'm half Hispanic.
Just because people aren't Spanish doesn't mean that they can't know Spanish. Plenty of people that aren't Spanish know Spanish. Also they can put to mind that some people that are full Hispanic and don't know the Spanish language at all!
If you prefer rock...
Normally rock music is loud, and sounds like the people that are singing are yelling. But then there are the songs that I am into, they aren't too loud, and rarely scream. Most people think that if you listen to rock you are "emo" or "goth" or something, but half the time you're not! When people come on to me as if that's what I am, and if you like rock and people think this of you, ignore them, you know what and who you are, they don't.
