I am a self-confessed music lover. I truly admire those artist who writes their own songs and perform well onstage. Among the music albums that I bought since I was a kid, my #1 favorite is Christina Aguilera's Stripped album. I was in third year high school when I bought that record and it changed my life eversince.

Every individual who has a copy of this album can easily relate to me. It's just that everything blended well - the music, the lyrics, the voice and even the music videos. She included a lot of songs on it which are really personal to her that time. There's also a lot of revelations in the album.

A lot of people criticized her because of the video "Dirrty" and it's explicit content. Some thought the album talks about sex and all the bad stuff.

Here are my opinions on five of the songs in the album:

"BEAUTIFUL" - A lot of people consider this as an inspirational song.

" I am beautiful, no matter what they say Words can't bring me down I am beautiful in every special way Yes words can't bring me down So don't you bring me down today"

INFATUATION - It is a song about a girl's realization about the difference of love and infatuation and how she learned from her mother's experience.

Mama used to warn me To beware those Latin lovers

She said 'I gave my heart too soon And that's how I became your mother'

I said ay mama, you seem to forget I'm not in love yet Sweet talk don't win me over

But I realized Big brown eyes can hypnotize

GET MINE, GET YOURS - It is about a girl expressing her real intention on a guy she's eyeing on. She's not really in love and she doesn't want to get into a relationship. She only wants to satisfy her sexual cravings.

We have a physical thing

We make love, but don't fall in love

We spend time, just enough

So you get yours, and I get mine

No strings attached I want your body, not your heart

I'M OK - The lyrics is very, very personal and I bet victims of child abuse can relate to this. It is a song re-assuring her dad that despite all the ugly things that happened in the past, "I'm Ok".

Bruises fade father, but the pain remains the same

And I still remember how you kept me so afraid

Strength is my mother for all the love she gave

And every morning that I wake I look back at yesterday

And I'm okay

CAN'T HOLD US DOWN - The song also featured controversial rapper Lil'Kim. It is a song about women asking why there is a big difference between men and women in the society.

If you look back in history it's a common double standard of society

The guy gets all the glory the more he can score

While the girl can do the same and yet you call her a whore

I don't understand why it's okay,

The guy can get away with it, the girl gets named

All my ladies come together and make a change

And start a new beginning for us, everybody sing

Every song in the album has personal touch and the best thing here there is Christina Aguilera revealed a lot about women's feelings in this album and yes, she co-wrote in most of the tracks in the album.
