Nayantara and Chennai Super Kings part ways

Updated on May 11, 2008

Nayantara has been going places, literally and figuratively. One of the busiest actresses in Kollywood these days, she has become famous and has been travelling a lot to complete her multiple assignments. And just when one thinks her career has touched the summit with her latest grand project, she surprises everyone with yet another new and bigger project. She has acted opposite almost all the greats of Kollywood.

This master of multitasking shoots for films round-the-clock. Recently, she had some health issues due to over exertion and opted out from the responsibility of being ambassador of Chennai Super Kings which would have put her under even more work pressure.

We just witnessed her star power which made IPL select her as brand ambassador. Her presence and acting skills added to the success of Yaaradi Nee Mohini, where she was cast opposite Dhanush. She was Rajinikanth's heroine in Chandramukhi and has worked with Ajith. She is going to share screen space with Vijay in Singam and with Ajith in Aegan.

When we talk about Nayantara, the first thing that comes to our minds these days is her bikini scene from Billa. Even her greatest critics agreed to the amount of hard work she had put in to get a chiselled look; everything was in line with the current fashion world, adequate muscle tone, lean look, perfect uniformly tanned skin. Nayantara has given a new dimension to the glamour side of Kollywood.

She steals the limelight in every frame where she appears. She has great acting skills, some of which she displayed in Yaaradi Nee Mohini recently. She has style and all that it takes to grab the attention stardom she has earned and is enjoying now. In her hometown, people relish her dubbed movies, which always feature among the top ten movies in Kerala.

The role of female artists in Kollywood is changing for sure and Nayantara should be lauded for spearheading the change, earning her place in the top slot.
