The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is maybe the most popular of all The Legend of Zelda games in the series. Ocarina of Time was first released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998 and the Nintendo Game Cube in 2002. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time so far is the only video game to receive a perfect score by Famitsu. It is the highest rated video game on both popular gaming sites Metacritic.com and Gamerankings.com.

In this Legend of Zelda game Ganondorf has magical powers, but doesn't control the Triforce at the beginning of the game. Ganondorf follows Link into the Sacred Realm. When Link pulls out his Master Sword, Ganondorf appears and informs Link that he will rule Hyrule by giving him access. Link is then frozen for seven years. Meanwhile, this gives Ganondorf time to find the Triforce. When Ganondorf finds the Triforce, it breaks into three pieces called Power, Wisdom, and Courage. Ganondorf is able to become master of Hyrule with the Power Triforce while Link is frozen. After the seven years has ended, Link beats Ganondorf by waking the Seven Sages. Ganondorf becomes locked away in the Sacred Realm.

Link learns 12 different tunes throughout the game which later help him to teleport and solve riddles.
