Responding to God's Change through the Lord Jesus Christ
The Scientific Law of Thermodynamics describes Physical Change
Over the past two years we heard the word "change" in the U.S. Presidential elections more than any other word in the dictionary. In politics "change" usually refers to having a different administration in government from the previous one. In the general sense the word "Change" can have many other meanings.
- In the physical world all material things change over time. Nothing visible and tangible is permanent.
- The scientific Law of Thermodynamics describes the basic principles and universal law of decay.
The Second Law of Thermodynamics describes basic principles familiar in everyday life. It is partially a universal law of decay; the ultimate cause of why everything ultimately falls apart and disintegrates over time. Material things are not eternal. Nothing stays as fresh as the day one buys it; Food becomes stale and rotten. Clothes become torn and tattered. Everything ages and wears out. Even death is a manifestation of this law. The effects of the 2nd Law are all around, touching everything in the universe
"While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." (2 Cor. 4:18)
Change can be either Good or Bad
No one is Good in God's Sight
"But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."(Isa. 64:6)
"As it is written: There is none righteous, no not one."(Rom. 3:10)
God wants the people on earth to change from bad to good.
In the Lord Jesus Christ things change from Bad to Good
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day."(2 Cor. 4:16)
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."(2 Cor. 5:17)
God's Change begins with Belief in the Lord Jesus Christ
"And he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."(Acts 16:30-31)
The Lord Jesus Christ said, "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." (Lk. 13:3)
Repentance and Baptism for the Remission of Sins
"Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."(Acts 2:28-39)
Divine Change in the New Birth
"Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."(Jn. 3:5)
