College Scholarships with Deadlines in September
Why Apply for a College Scholarship?
College costs more money than ever these days and scholarships are available to students who are willing to put in some effort to complete the required applications.
Although it may seem impossible to win a scholarship, especially when the scholarship is available to students across the nation, you certainly won't win if you don't apply.
One important key to winning a scholarship is to make yourself stand out from the crowd. One of the easiest ways to do this is through the essay that you write. So try to keep that in mind when writing your scholarship essays. And keep the essays you write because it may be possible to tweak an essay you wrote for one scholarship, and use the tweaked version for a different scholarship.

How to Find More Scholarships
Are you interested in finding more scholarships that may pertain specifically to you or your field of study? I find scholarships by using the Google search engine, but I will let you in on a little secret. I have a favorite source for finding scholarships. It's the book below. The Ultimate Scholarship Book.
I have used this book for years, starting when I ran the career center at a high school in Connecticut. The authors became experts on getting scholarships to pay for their college education and I have found it an amazing source of scholarships. The good news is that they print a new version each year so you can get the most updated scholarships.
