Tips for Financing Online

Updated on April 8, 2009

Personal Finances

It can be hard to plan your finances appropriately, especially if you have a family with children. There's always the unexpected penny up the nose incident, so for these occasional accidents, you'll want to have the money saved for emergencies and accidents. In order to do that you'll need to plan a budget and set goals for your finances.

Even if you're single without a spouse or children, you will want to start preparing your future finances accordingly. You never know what the future holds, so by planning your personal finances you're paving a path to a successful future.

Using an investment company to help you with your finances can be a great way to ensure that your investments are safe. You can use the official website to several different companies to help plan your finances, as well as check your accounts, use budgeting calculators, and other tools that will help your financially.

Below, I've used the AWD Money Extra Website as a great example of an online website that will help you plan your finances, but you can always check out the features and tools by the official website of you personal bank or other investment companies.

Plan Finances Online

You may want to start off by looking at AWD Money Extra, which is a personal planning website that offers free tools to help you plan your finances. You'll want to answer the questions and provide short and long term goals that you want to achieve.

Make sure that you have a few minutes to spare, as the questionnaire will take at least 30 minutes, depending on whether or not you already have your financial goals, budget plans, and retirement plans, already decided upon. But, when you're finished with the questionnaire, AWD Money Extra will sent you a detailed financial action plan to help you achieve your goals for the future.

Next, you'll want to visit the website for the investment company that you've opted to use, and usually you'll find a portfolio management tool, which will help you outline your information and give you specifics. If you want, since you're already there, you can use the management tool at the Money Extra website.

H&R Block and other financial advising companies offer tools to help you with your finances whether they be with your taxes, investment planning, or other financial advice.

Take in all of the advice and specifics outlined to you by the AWD Money Extra website, that of your investment company, and H&R Block. Decide if you want to change to a credit card with a lower interest rate, or pay it off and cancel it altogether.

You may want to check out the Credit Card Menu, Credit Card Ratings, or the Compare Credit Cards website to browse credit cards by company, type, and even credit score. Because there are so many different credit cards and credit card companies, you may want to reconsider the one(s) that you have, as by changing your main credit card can help you pull your way out of or away from the decline towards debt.

I find it incrediablly difficult to plan financially with a credit card. I guess just not seeing the cash physically makes me become more out of sync with what is actually going on with my finances. I recently became a member of a credit union, dropped the credit card for a debit card, and alloted myself a certain amount of expenses per pay check. It was tough changing up my spending habits but I guess you grow to adapt. I see thay your from Georgia so you might be aware of Clark Howard who has a great site about financial advice (along with the ones you posted!). Excellent hub! and very befitting considering our current economy.
